This is odd, the white SUV looks fine, something isn't right, I can get better results in the UK :( where the light is poor. You could drop the shutter to 0 - 0.7ms, but even on 1ms it should be better. Assuming you on H264H, high bitrate, no NR and no sharpening (initially at least), backlight...

    Dahua SD49225T-HN PTZ repair log

I am in the process of an attempted repair on one of my SD49225T-HN ptz cameras, believe the network socket has corroded, certainly one of the spring connectors has gone bad. Shall make notes on here for the pin out/colour mapping of the 8 core network cable and also list the replacement I got...

IR sensitivity differences between 5442-S3 and T54PRO-ZE ... puzzling results

100% this, the sliders and numbers, particularly shutter speed are of no relevance on these at this point. Your quote re the 5442's hit the nail right on the head, at this stage the real upgrade from a 5442 is....a 5442 S3! if you don't already own one. The 2MP starlights were such an easy buy...

IR sensitivity differences between 5442-S3 and T54PRO-ZE ... puzzling results

Probably don't need to tell you this but logic goes out of the window with these Pro's at the moment. Not really sure you can compare the settings like for like. If the motion quality was as good as these stills Andy would need to order as much stock as he could! Oddly enough I am in the...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Seem to recall someone else mentioned this, but I turned on Ai SSA for a laugh yesterday, only for 5 minutes! then disabled it. Since then almost every time a vehicle/person enters the scene, the image (exposure) darkens and general quality is reduced. Shortly after, sometimes immediately, the...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That is good to know, others have mentioned the upgrade being enough that they replaced other older 5442's. Mine I believe are the earlier models. I shall need to invest in some good external IR's, or at least one initially.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I have a couple of 5442 original bullets, hands down the best cameras I own for seeing into the darkness. Interested to swap one for an S3 to see if there are any benefits. Simply amazes me the ability those 5442's have with onboard IR.

This data would be good to see no doubt, I usually try and keep mine below the max limit if possible at least, pretty sure they will be working hard enough.

I use the camouflage ones on my tree mounted locations, still working out how to get them sync'd with blue iris

I always experiment with fps, mostly I never need more than 10-15, only maybe on critical cams I will run 20. There are some occasions where I find more detail and better freeze frame on higher fps and certainly higher bitrate, as always, find your sweet spot. For me as per many others, quality...

Well that was known as false hope, 20 minutes after sunset, Pro is in IR and looking a bit of a mess, whilst the S3 and 4K continue as expected. I will leave it running at 10fps to see how the colour mode works out overnight, I have it switch in about 4 hours time.

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I recommend testing 10fps if you can bare it :) mainly because I know that I have been to 15 in the past and didn't see a difference. I am pretty sure 10fps has helped in brief testing, light is terrible and raining also, still giving good results. I will leave it on 10fps overnight, will soon...

This cause/effect, is a big problem for these cameras, I see it all the time in either exact ghosting of the vehicle or 'ghosting follow shadow', as above behind the golf cart. Normally most noticeable in poor lighting and presumably once the auto processing/NR kicks in.

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I know that pain :) ! - for my testing it seems that gain above 30 seems to really punish quality during the day, well at night as well but we both know gain below 50-70 at night is virtually impossible with these things :) ! Drop the frame rate, like 10 or below, tell me what happens, if I...

Has anyone tried dropping the frame rate right down to 10 or less, just done so one mine and will report back when cars appear. Weather is very dark due to cloud and rain, the Pro switched to B&W. Just a thought though, also I feel like worse things happen when these are in colour rather than...

I am also thinking that those of us who have hours of testing with these 54Pro's should be rewarded with S3's by method of compensation, courtesy of Dahua. I'm looking at myself, @bigredfish @alekk @Chokolinho @tmxv4128 and others I am sure which I have not listed. Pretty clear difference...

IR sensitivity differences between 5442-S3 and T54PRO-ZE ... puzzling results

The Pro has some over exposure/blown hightlights going on there. The big takeaway for me is the massive overprocessing with the 54Pro, looks like combination of sharpening, gain and NR, couldn't say which. It results in less detail and a far from natural look to some of the shrubs/trees/grass.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

:goodpost: 100% Agree with this, should never have left the factory in this state, period. What I have to state again though, the shutter on the 54Pro will not freeze motion above 2ms, simple facts. It still puzzles me, because in your samples (and my own two test cameras) I see hints that...

Yes 100% this, ASAP, I didn't like to flag the previous comment about next firmware end of November, end of this week would be good! - kick them around please Andy @EMPIRETECANDY or get them to employ us for proper testing before release. Oh, and be sure to keep plenty of S3 bullets in stock...

That would be nice, well above my paygrade that one! I'll take the full custom firmware with manual override on any Ai/Auto pixie dust features, sunset/sunrise profile scheduling and normally expected behaviour with shutter speeds and freezing motion, day and night

Cannot comment on the NVR but do not buy the Pro models at the moment, they are a hot mess at night and basically anything other than good daylight. Unless as @bigredfish says you have a short range location in mind, then the white LED's might indeed be a bonus. My S3's (and 4K-T to some...

Frustrating isn't it, companies complicate the supply chain of their own products. It isn't rocket science to me, you have a basic line of cameras, cheaper low powered IR or LED base models, then you have the Pro (yes the irony! oh my the irony) line for commercial installers and enthusiasts...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

This really isn't a good sign, do you think the reason is a large amount of installer who don't know or cannot be bothered to set them up? or simply to cater for private buyers to plug, play and say...wow, look how light it is out there :idk:

This will be the auto/Ai pixies doing there thing I suspect. Similar thing happens when a car passes at night with IR or colour, processing happens and 'pixelation' effect begins.

It should work well, I actually just slowed the shutter a bit on mine and that bright spot is very apparent. The film will be out and fitted either tomorrow or Tuesday :thumb: Let us know how it works out if you get some.

@tmxv4128 Here is the film on one of my old starlight cameras, worked well for several years. It was a tidy job on that camera due to the recessed illuminators, on the new style cameras some thought will be required to make it look less DIY if that bothers you. Will be doing the same on my S3...

There are no doubt some strange things going on in the background, sometimes mine can be running in B&W as the sun comes up, or early morning. As a vehicle passes through the scene it will literally switch to colour part way through around 30-35 frames! As my B54IR-Z4E-S3 keeps reminding me...
