US Elections (& Politics) :)

The only reason Trump wants to get rid of the current ACA is because people call it Obamacare. He is stating the exact same plan, except give people the money instead of a discount, and call it Trumpcare.
Let that sink in for a moment. Doesn't care about the outrageous prices of health care, why should any politician care? They all have private doctors, private this, private that...

It's all because of the NAME.

I believe it would help to drop coverage for convenience abortions, sex change procedures, a bunch of other not medically necessary items I don't have memorized, plus the added bureaucracy. This added bureaucracy has destroyed the independent doctor model. Almost all of them work for corporations now, with departments of previously unnecessary droids to handle the paperwork and regulations. In my town there were 3 orthopedic businesses before ACA, now thanks to the bureaucracy, there is one. There used to be two large cancer treatment organizations, now it's down to one. In addition to fixing a few major problems, the ACA destroyed the whole big-picture medical system and turned it into something more expensive and less responsive. The promise of keeping your doctor and keeping your insurance exposes the whole thing as a big lie. But I agree there's no going back. The system is permanently wrecked.

The Hospital systems and Insurance companies did that, not the ACA. Ask your doctor.

My doctor at the time said flat out that ACA is why he retired.

Interesting.
In the past 4 years my Cardiologist and Primary have both retired.
One was a gun guy the other liked to talk finance. So we often had 10 min exams and 30 min of off topic BS time. :)

Both retired for the same reason. Advent Health system (the big #1 hospital here in the region, formerly Florida Hospital) bought their private practices. Both were in a practice with multiple 3-7 doctors.
After Advent bought them, they were on a short leash where they had to see X number of patients per day, and basically the computer screen did the diagnosis and prescribed treatment. They were effectively out of the loop and could no longer spend much time with patients or really call the shots on treatment.
They both blamed Advent and the big healthcare companies gobbling up private practices to eliminate competition.

Who’s driving the cost?

A few years ago, my oldest teen daughter turned pale and passed out in the rest room. We got some sweats on her, I carried her to car and to the ER we went. The 'Baptist' hospital is right down the road from me. Normally, I can't go there, as I am Tri-Care Prime, but under these circumstances it is allowed. Anyway, I had to carry her in....she was pale as death.....they immediately got us into a room and started an IV. About 3 hours later, she was awake but still kind of out of it. She had no fever prior. They ran tests on her and turns out she had the 'flu'. For 3 hours, 1 IV, some Tylenol III and a few other items, the bill (and I don't remember exactly how much it was) was if I remember correctly, between $3500 to $4500! 3 hours, 1 IV, some Tylenol and that was it. When I got the bill, I went up to the hospital and seriously started chewing ass. I was asked to leave...and I did, but not till I got some.

I only had to pay like $50 or something...but I also know that Tri-Care told them to pound sand and only paid them out like $1600, which was still STUPID.

I know my numbers are off, but not by that much. The point it that this is stupid. And THE TWO PARTIES (NOT THE SOCIALIST DEMONCRATS) need to get their heads together and figure this shit out. There are so many smart, intelligent people we have, someone can come up with a legitimate compromise, I am sure. We will never be able to please every one, but something needs to happen. And in order for it to happen, pretty sure 'capitalism' is going to have to take a back seat a bit in order for it to work.

I am just glad I retired military and have my Tri-Care Prime.

Love the creativity. Even illegals like a good Xmas show.

Haven't looked into to but maybe someone can chime in. They broke a "decree"? So judges make rulings based on a decree made by King Brandon? Was a law broken or only a royal decree?

This is the shit that the gubermint needs to attack. That is, where is the money going and why and ways to reduce the cost.....like significantly.

Remember this when they tell you that $2000 tariff dividend that you already paid for along with the $5000 DOGE check and your $10,000 raise this year …. Don’t happen.
Again.
