Version 6 Beta

From the Changelog posted with 5.9.9.98 ...

[5.9.9.99] – 2025-11-06

This is the version 6 beta and will not appear as an automatic update. You may install it from As revisions may be made to this single version number, watch for date changes to stay current.

I installed .99 and all the thumbnails were black both in the main app and UI3. If I clicked on the black thumbnail it actually played the video but it was annoying so I reverted back to.98.
 
I just posted the 1st update package for the V6 beta to the forum's Downloads folder.
It's named 5.9.9.99.V6beta1.exe

As the file properties for the directly downloaded file change, I'll try to push subsequent V6betaN files to this folder.
The property I'll monitor will probably be the update package file size.

Hopefully theses files will make it easier to revert to an earlier working version of the V6beta should something go wrong.

So is anybody running 5.9.9.99 having issues with thumbnails? I've been running this for about 12 hours and have notice that some of my thumbnails are not showing. The weird thing is that this doesn't happen all the time and the issue is only occurring on my LPR cameras.

I'm seeing a very small number of black JPG thumbnails ('D:\BlueIris\New' folder) for only my frontdoor PTZ camera. One today after updating to .99, and one yesterday after updating to .98.

I don't think it's a database glitch because right-clicking and selecting 'Open containing folder' takes me to a real JPG file that is small and actually black.

same here, just started with 6.0 b1... black alerts. The actual jpg is only 8k and black. repair or replace database no help (as expected as the jpg file has no data)
 
Ken just updated the V6beta file (detected by a change in the file size).

on the subject of the thumbnails, mine are large (the image of the thumbnails on the left.. .the clip list, not the clip length. The ones I see here are smaller...I thought there used to be a way to select the size, but I can't find it now. Anyone know?
 
Assuming the beta is a reasonable prediction of what a real V6 will looks like, could somebody give a short big picture report of what it looks like and does compared to V5? What big differences will an "ordinary" user see?

The V6beta2 version is buggier than the first version. The thumbnail issue is resolved, but the there are significant network issues. UI3 doesn't work and the mobile app cannot connect to the server. Rolling back to V6beta1.

I'm seeing UI3 just fine on my desktop and on my android phone (local and remote with ZeroTier)... also mobile app on the android.

Hmmm.... not working for me and rolling back doesn't work either. Looks like I'm dead in the water until I can figure this out.

EDIT: Rebooting the server resolved this issue. I'm back up on V6beta2

I spoke to soon... I am still seeing network issues. Rolled back to 5.9.9.98 until this becomes more stable.
