Nvr ds-7608ni-se / p

Hello,
I bought an NVR hhikvision DS-7608NI-SE/P believing having 8 channel . But I have only 4 POE ports on the back. I asked if i put a POE switch I was able to have 8 camera. In the configuration of NVR I see nothing that can make me install eight cameras.

When logged into the NVR, go to Configuration then Camera Management. Can you add camera's by IP there?

Yes but i only see four channel, and in Device information it says Number of channel : 4.

I dont receive all my camera i will be able to do more test next week or the other

It will only show the # of cameras that are connected. When your cameras come assign them static IP's then try to add them to the NVR by clicking the "Add" button. Did you grab another poe switch? Here's a few that I have used http://flark.it/poe and http://flark.it/poe2

Mike is correct. The 4 PoE channels are pre-configured and fixed in the configuration, and represent the PoE ports on the back panel. The remaining 4 come from the LAN and are for you to add up to the maximum of 8.
If you want to put your mind at rest - try with the 'Add' button adding a dummy entry using an unused IP address on your LAN.
The NVR will complain the camera is off-line or does not exist, but then you will have 5 entries.
