So i was trying to get my parents Live view working on PC, tried installing latest local plugin and restarting. It then said something about needing to set a password, this is where i made a mistake. Under local/live parameters i set what i thought was the correct password. Since then, i can no longer login with it saying incorrect password. I've tried a number of passwords to no avail. Any idea's on how i can reset this? Live view on phones and NVR all still work fine.

Not having much luck atm!

If you can access the NVR console GUI (a monitor and mouse plugged directly into the NVR), then check the devices page... depending on your NVR model/firmware you may have something similar to this:

If you click the box next to "Show Password", it will ask for the NVR password... if you enter that correctly, then the "Password" column will show each camera's password rather than "******".

Once you know the camera's password... you will be able to reset it to whatever you like.

Thanks, will have a look there.

OK so i had to reset the password, pretty easy via "forgot password". Got live view working in the NVR GUI. Next issue was me needing to get into the camera GUI, worked out i had to turn virtual host in the NVR GUI. That then gives the address for the camera, which brings me to my next issue...the camera's login details. I assume it's admin for username, but I've tried a couple passwords and still says incorrect.

Oh, i also did a reset of the camera via the reset button, at which time i changed the camera from manual to plug and play before resetting it.

Any idea's on what the password would be when it's plug and play?

Were you able to try this? If the option is there in your NVR GUI, it would give you the camera passwords:

The cameras will have the same password and user name as the NVR. So use that.

I can't find that exact page but there is one and as it's plug and play, the password section is blank.

That's what i thought and tried that a couple times, no go.

I might reboot their system and try again.

What is the model number and firmware version of the NVR... can you post a picture of the devices page in the NVR?

I just left my olds, i did find this on the web GUI and it does show it has a password, looks like 6 digits. I've tried everything 6 digits i can think of.

The model is DS-7604NI/4P, firmware V4.60.005_231219, which comes up as the latest for AU.

OK, just wanted to get a rough idea of the firmware version...

I'm pretty sure with that version, there is a setting on the devices page under "More..." called "Default password settings"... there you set the password the system will use when it adds a camera using plug and play... similar to this V5 GUI:

Most people would set "Default password settings" to the same password as the NVR password so the NVR and camera passwords would be the same as @looney2ns said...

Since I don't remember the V4 GUI too well, I still would need to see a screenshot of the devices page.

But I still think the easiest thing to do is use the "Show password function" on the NVR console GUI page... Take another look at the NVR console GUI when you can and post some screenshots... ok, I just googled "Hikvision V4 show password", and the show password function is there on the V4 firmware:

You’ve done it again! So that setting above was there all along, now that my own unit is on V4 I had a play and found that you have to toggle the display on that page, which is on the top right hand side, which then shows the “show password” box. So I got the password, it ended up being the original password of the NVR that was changed just after the camera reset yesterday after my olds couldn’t remember what it was(no surprise there!!)

Again, thank you so much for your help, much appreciated.
