Dahua NVR5208-4KS2 Setup

Everything working fine until recently. Now having problems. Modem/Router is Archer BE800. Checking to see if my setup is connected properly. NVR and TV's are connected to 16 port switch, then to router. Cameras are connected to POE switch in attic which is connected directly to router. The NET light on NVR is never on. Can view cameras on Smart PSS, but now no live view on TV, but individual cameras still have live view. Says can't find NVR 192.168.1.108. Router has assigned NVR to 192.168.1.187. Don't know if I should modify IP address one way or another. Do I need to port forward Router to a specific IP?
 
No port forwarding required in your scenario (LAN), only used when attempting to access remotely (via WAN) and not recommended in that scenario anyway.

Insure NVR LAN and all cameras are assigned a unique, static IP all in the same subnet of 192.168.1.XXX but outside of the router's DHCP pool; FWIW, 192.168.1.108 is a Dahua and Dahua-OEM default IP.

Got NVR Net light on by moving to switch with TV's. Now lost NVR address completely. Still have 192.168.1.108 on NVR GUI, but now 192.168.1.187 not on router.
 
Router is set for Dynamic IP. Do I need to change static IP? Don't know settings to make change.
No. That could be about the WAN IP which the ISP will determine as dynamic (likely) or static.

I'm talking about setting a static IP in each camera and in the NVR's LAN.
 
All equipment ip's should be anything BUT 192.168.1.108. That is the default ip for any dahua equipment you add to the system, you want that empty so you can add new items. As soon as you add anything new, change it's ip to something other than 192.168.1.108. Two IPs on the same address will not work.

Looking back at your previous posts below since September it's pretty obvious you need to configure all cameras, the NVR's LAN and the TV with unique, static IP addresses, all in the same subnet of 192.168.1.XXX but outside of the router's DHCP pool. When cameras, TV's etc. are left in DHCP (Dynamic) mode they can change when there's a power cycle to them or the house and the devices power up in a different order than before and get a different IP when no IP reservation is made in the router for those individual DHCP devices. :cool:

It appears from those earlier posts that the router's DHCP pool begins at 192.168.1.2 so I would chose 192.168.1.200 to 192.168.1.250 for the NVR, cameras and TV (assuming DHCP pool starts at 192.168.1.2). The NVR is currently 192.168.1.108 so make the NVR 192.168.1.200, the TV .201 and the cameras from .202 to .250 (that's 48 cameras!).

Ideally, I wouldn't assume as I did above that DHCP pool range I'd log into the router (likely 192.168.1.1) and actually set that DHCP pool to the desired range...I think a DHCP pool from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.199 is adequate.

Thanks . Do I change current router address 192.168.1.254 to 192.168.1.1 first? Then set pool range 200 to 250? Then use SmartPSS or NVR GUI to change camera and NVR IP addresses? Would I use router address reservation to change TV's IP? Leave IP's for everything else in dynamic?

No, leave at .254

Then set pool range 200 to 250?
No. Set pool rnage from .2 to .199

Then use SmartPSS or NVR GUI to change camera and NVR IP addresses?
Use PC on same 192.168.1.XXX subnet to login to NVR and camera's individual webGUIs to assign static IP's.

Would I use router address reservation to change TV's IP?
Yes, if you cannot assign static IP in TV's GUI (my Android-based Sony/Google TV I can do that, yours maybe not so make IP res in router.

Leave IP's for everything else in dynamic?

Set pool range to 200 - 250. So no need to change cameras because they are 192.168.1. 2-5 and static. NVR IP still does not work at 192.168.1.108
This is wrong. I was unable to promptly correct my post beacuse the @#$% forum has issues. Please read my Post #9. You set the pool range low generally, from just above the router's LAN IP, to a value just below where you want to have your choice of static IP's to choose from such as:

If router LAN IP = .1, then DHCP pool = .2 to .199, leaves static IP's for you to use = .200 to .250
If router LAN IP= 192.168.1.254, then the above will still work because you're ending the DHCP pool at .199 and you're not assigning static IP's above .250 :cool:

Thanks for the clarification Tony. Changed pool to .2 to .199. Renamed cameras 202 and 203. Realized default router is wrong address at 192.168.1.1 changed to .254. Had trouble changing camera and NVR IPs . Think I am done now and have live view. SmartPSS didn't correct automatically so had to change IPs there also.
