What software do you use for backup?
I've been using Acronis Cyber Protect for a couple years now. It's a good backup program that is subscription based. I also have a Synology NAS unit which has it's own backup software as well. -
Which UPS for 24 hr CCTV backup?
I bought a portable Duromax 13500 watt generator to serve as basically a whole house generator. I converted it to run on natural gas, which runs clean, similar to propane. I read that the cylinder head valves may eventually need to be adjusted due to running these fuels, as they don't lubricate...- Jim I.

I actually started out with Synology Surveillance Station last year using the 2 free licenses. I already owned one of their NAS units so it was a good way to get started with security cameras. I read the reason their cameras are so expensive is because the cost of licensing them is included, whereas Synology charges you 50.00 per camera to use their Synology Surveillance Station. (first 2 camera licenses' are free). Don't know why they don't want a broader market share like Synology.- Jim I.

I hear you. But I already had the Unifi Dream machine SE router and access points, so I sprang for their switch as well. I'm not using their cameras though, they tie you to just their product line. If I had to do it over I might have taken a cheaper route.- Jim I.

Unifi makes a good managed switch that is advertised as ultra quiet. I have the 24 port Pro model that is a 1U rack mount model. Works great for me. It has 16 Poe+ ports and 8 POE ++ ports, along with (2) 10 GB SFP+ ports. Switch Pro 24 PoE- Jim I.

I have a Dahua IPC-HDW5442T-ZE mounted on the side of my house that has had issues with IR deflection. Plus the houses in my subdivision are pretty close together. Where can I find information about corridor mode? I don't see any reference to it in the camera setup page or in BI.- Jim I.
