Version 4.3.8.0
Thank you. I had just updated to ver 4.3.0.9 so found it and renamed. Looks like if you ever wanted to revert back you would just click on the file and it runs like an .exe file. I'm new so will start saving in case of future issues. good to know. -

How do you save and store particular version of BI? i.e. how can I just download the update file without installing into the BI program, in case I need it in the future. -

Nayr, That makes sense! I guess the only thing I'm not sure of is when my desktop would ever need to communicate with my BI server. But, anyway think I'll reroute my cables to have all network devices terminate into the gig switch. It will at least physically clean up my cables. I've got...- dryfly

Only things plugged into the AT&T router are the gig switch with the cameras and BI server, my desktop computer, and an Envisalink board on my alarm system. Nayr, I have not thought about this! I've got a TP-Link 10/100 switch for 3 cameras, then feeding that into a TP-Link gigabit switch with 3 more cameras on it. That switch is then routed to my AT&T 2Wire Gateway. The ports on the gateway are 10/100 Fast Ethernet. Everything seems to be...- dryfly

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. And yes I've read of some of the tweaks on privacy and the classic shell. Heck with 7 I'm running the old XP look and the closer I can stay with that the happier I am. Not much for change. I understand what Bob is saying and don't think I'll have much... -

Win 10 which version
This computer is a new build. I do run Win 7 Pro x64 on my business computer but I don't want to give that up for Win 10. I still am not crazy about going with 10 but support for 7 will end in a few years and for a dedicated camera system 10 should be fine. -

I've looked at that chart and researched other websites and I can't find anything that I need. Just thought I might be missing something that would be needed for a dedicated BI machine. If there is I would appreciate suggestions. -

I've got to buy a copy of Win OS. Still really like my Win 7 pro but because of future MS support seems like I might as well go with Win 10. Question is will Win 10 64bit Home version do the job for Blue Iris? Don't want to buy pro version if not needed. -

So.....when considering the compromise of video quality and storage space do you recommend bitrate type to be set at "constant" with max at 4096?- dryfly

Where is hardware accelaration in 4.3.7?
Assuming camera max bitrate at 4096 kbps, continuous recording, do you feel there would be considerable more hard disk space taken up by going from 10fps to 15 or 20? I'm fine with the video I'm getting at 10fps but obviously would be smoother at a little higher fps.- dryfly

Where is hardware accelaration in 4.3.7?
Increased to 15 fps and enabled hardware acceleration. Tried both H.264 as well as video Post Proc. CPU usage jumped up a couple % over 10fps w/no HA. Problem was that 2 Geovision cameras on system had goofy video. I'm going back to 10fps with no HA. I think I can live with 7 - 9% CPU.- dryfly

Where is hardware accelaration in 4.3.7?
Any downsides to using hardware acceleration? I'm running an i7 4790 and 5 cameras and using 7% cpu usage. All cameras set at 10fps. If I bumped them up a few fps and engaged HA would I still be in the 10% range?- dryfly

Export configuration file
OK got it to work. Using Firefox 45.0.1 and found that webcomponents must be loaded to enable Live View before export will work. I don't understand this operation but since it allowed me to export config file I'll just live with it. Thanks for the help. -

I am trying store config files on all my cameras in case there is a glitch. It appears accessing the cameras via the web browser, then advanced configuration>maintenance offers both export and import options. However, when I click on "export" nothing happens. No path or opportunity to name... -

Are these rebranded Hiks?
I'm having this problem with a Hikvision 3mp dome. I needed coverage in a fairly large living area so I've got the camera angled at about 30 degrees away from the ceiling. Getting lots of "fog" when using the IR. Would I get the same effect from the 2CD2542 mini dome? The case looks like it...
