Troubleshooting Circuitry in Old SD49225T-HN PTZ Cameras

Did two experiments today. 1. Test what happens if you power up the camera without an EEPROM in place? Is there a copy of the firmware in the battery backed up RAM? Result - Camera powers up and then the PTZ system does its horizontal and vertical motion motions. However, the camera does not...

Troubleshooting Circuitry in Old SD49225T-HN PTZ Cameras

That is the adapter I am now awaiting. End of April - early May estimated arrival. I have not (for decades) had any old school EEPROMS that would fit the 40 pin ZIF without an adapter. Back then, it was cobble together your own programmer with an external power supply, parallel port, and write...

Troubleshooting Circuitry in Old SD49225T-HN PTZ Cameras

From what I'm now gathering Xgecu makes their adapter incompatible between models of their programmers. The T48 (3rd Gen TL866II) won't work with TL866II or TL866II plus adapters. Given the same 40 pin ZIF socket and TL866II family, I had not expected that to be an issue.

After a few hours of fruitless work trying to get MiniPro GUI installed and running on my Mac.... 1. MiniPro on MacOS will not work with the T48 programmer, not at least with the release version of MiniPro. Apparently, brewing from GitLab directly might get a revision that does support T48, but...

    PTZ Horizontal line setup

I have never seen a circular level that can be read from BELOW. They all have been read from above and were designed to be placed atop a surface. Below the mounting arm would be upside down placement. I'm surprised you found a circular level that can be used in that orientation.

^^^^ This ^^^^ Unfortunately, this is only fixable by physically leveling camera mounting.

    Night of Fluffy Clouds

You should be able to get some nice captures with that Dobsonian and camera. Envious here. You have a lot more light gathering power than our little security cams. Still, I'm floored at what the Dahua sensors are managing with their short shutter times. Every time I want to get a real scope, I...

Will have to look at that. Would beat pulling down my Windows laptop that is dedicated to Smokeless Range.

Troubleshooting Circuitry in Old SD49225T-HN PTZ Cameras

ROR!!!! That bodged on capacitor on the POE power board. I had forgotten I had added that ages ago to permit powering a microphone. Found it in an old thread of mine. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/modification-sd49225t-hn-add-external-microphone-power.31714/#post-294280

External IP66 / IP67 microphone for Dahua cameras?

I mod the cameras to back feed 12 volts OUT of their 12 volt input for the Microseven. That lets the camera do the voltage conversion from POE and provides a handy 12 volt output. The mics pull very little power. Course, that will probably void your warranty and you also break the water tight...

Orion Nebula and Satellite on PTZ cam

Captured on an EmpireTech PTZ5A4M-25X last night. Orion had dropped low enough for the PTZ to aim at sword. Had to run with shutter speed 750 msec, but got some interesting footage. Might have to modify this PTZ to give it some more upward tilt range. The stock position sensor configuration...

Troubleshooting Circuitry in Old SD49225T-HN PTZ Cameras

New EEPROM chips arrived from China. Now, awaiting the TSOP socket adapter to arrive via "slow boat" Meanwhile, I thought I would install the software and driver for the XGecu programmer to get ready. Broke out my windows laptop that I keep around for such low level tasks and found just how...

please help Dahua 5 mp PTZ ip cam

There is almost always a way to ghetto fashion a continuity tester. A flashlight with its end cap off and a couple wires bits will do the trick. So, will a battery, bits of wire and your tongue. Not for live circuits - of course, but will work in a pinch.

    Night of Fluffy Clouds

Pacific Northwest is notorious for our cloud cover. Bummer when they hide the sun, but clouds can also beautiful, particularly here just before they run up against the cascade mountains. Here are 12 hours of sky coverage looking west. Look carefully and you'll see Orion, Sirius, and Menkar peek...

They should frackin' back port that behavior to their older cameras!

Pretty Kitty, but what made him flinch?

Some of my cams, like the Color-4KT, have unusually sensitive microphones. On those cameras, I have to turn down the microphone volume in the camera to match my other cams.

Pretty Kitty, but what made him flinch?

More view better for certain. However, I really dislike the audio distortion caused by Dahua's noise reduction filter. I always turn that off to get better fidelity audio. In some of my newer cams with web 5.0 GUI, turning off the noise reduction filter is buggy and requires turning it on before...

Loryta IPC-Color-4KT Continues to Impress (Even Caught Andromeda Galaxy)

Having this recording 24/7 for scenery rather than security has been a big thumbs up from the wife. Glad I decided to try one even if I'm late to the party. Sorry, Youtube adds considerable banding when they recompress the video, especially if you view in downsized 1080P. Looks better if 4K...

    Color 4K-T

Wait.... T5IR-ZE-S3 can switch PROFILES by itself without a schedule? I've never heard of any Dahuas having that ability. They all seem unable to switch profiles on the basis on lighting, but always need to switch via schedule or external scheduling program. On the Color4K-T I have not...

IP Cam <-> Web server direct connection and integration

So.... basically putting the cams on a VLAN. Maybe querying a networking site regarding the cheapest VLAN solution would be the route to take.

IP Cam <-> Web server direct connection and integration

I suspect there won't be much experience here with doing that. The majority of users here are doing nearly the polar opposite of what you are trying to achieve. The majority of us are using NVR's and dual-NIC PC's to isolate our cameras from the outside world.

Even More Satellites March 15, 2024

This one is probably my best thus far. This is a bit slower at 30X speed. This is pretty nifty looking on my 150 inch screen. Wish I could upload the full quality version, but file is way too big at 2.23 GB. Youtube 4K is only practical way to distribute.

Troubleshooting Circuitry in Old SD49225T-HN PTZ Cameras

There is some sort of correlation. It went from once or twice daily down to once in several days. Not a direct cause effect, but does have an effect. We also know zero battery causes complete non-function. Easiest solution is of course to replace the camera entirely

SODOLA 4 Port Gigabit PoE Extender

Someonw with an NVR will have to answer. The port must output enough power (POE+) and the NVr must assign the IP addresses despite all on same line.
