    2.8 PTZ

The camera is not straight. It's just clamped to a pole to get it up in the air. Not leveled or securely mounted. Temp situation :) I gets pretty dark in my neighbor's back yard there. Waiting to see the night images.

And for Blue Iris... have to add camera with IP address/user/pass and then 'find' button. Have Channel1_MainStream and Channel1_Substream for the camera. clone the camera so you have to re-add it with ip addres/user/pass and then 'find' button. Have Channel2_MainStream and...

    This forum is dying

I am a paying member... because the members of this site helped me out with Da Tire Slasher. Thought being a monthly subscribing member would contribute back into the general IPCT way of things. Prior to terrorizing IPCT with my zainey questions all the time, I was a DIY & WoodWorker so was...

Dahua: all in one answer for home security?

I started here at IpCamTalk back in 2019 for home video security while an employee at a low voltage cabling business. I am now the owner of said business. With the gained knowledge via IPCT of what the difference is between a crappy camera and quality camera, focal length, aperture settings...

    2.8 PTZ

Hmm... good question. I would imagine it is a single camera with 2 channels (180 view + PTZ view). Maybe I should take home and slap into my Blue Iris to see, tomorrow.

    2.8 PTZ

We have a PTZ3E10X-T180 in our shop that we still have to install into our Dahua NVR. A little under $400 via Andy. 180 degrees for the static "stitched" camera. PTZ has 10x optical with 4mm-40mm focal length Focal LengthOverview channel: 2.8 mm; Detail channel: 4 mm–40 mm

Your friend wants a PTZ to "follow" your dogs around automatically? Or does your friend want to manually PTZ around to catch blind spots and/or zoom in when needed?

Just wanted to say... I gambled on the Dahua WiFi Floodlight (IPC-L46N-USA). Glad I did

1/3" sensor...for sure bad motion blue. I would not want this to be the only camera in the area. I have 5442's and PTZ for primary covering driveway and all front area.

Just wanted to say... I gambled on the Dahua WiFi Floodlight (IPC-L46N-USA). Glad I did

I needed to swap out my dusk-to-dawn flood light from the paranoid days of The Tire Slasher, to a security light that only came up during motion without lighting up the entire neighborhood at 3am. Andy told me about the L46N floodlight with a WiFi camera built into it. 1/3" CMOS sensor which...

IP camera with IR and PIR sensor to detect rodents

would it be possible to run a tacked up network patch cord from a POE switch to where the camera be located? I ran 48 Cat6 cables through out my house here & there when I jumped onboard for IP cameras which gave me reason to put hardwire cables in for 24vdc applications, AP's, IP cameras...

Who uses Dahua AI capable cameras? Reliable AI for triggering events? Pro's/con's?

Dahua AI cameras themselves will be unable to help you trying to determine "boat" vs "vehicle" or such. Might have to use the Blue Iris AI. Unsure if it has 'boat' listed in objects. But then again... Andy / EmpireTech has a YouTube channel showing how to Self Learning DataBase, which I...

Tips for a successful termination with RJ-45 connector

The ULTIMATE perfect way to terminate to RJ45 modular plug ends, is like getting 2 drunk dudes at a bar discussing FORD and CHEVY :) The way I do it since I have terminated about 5,000 mod plug ends: 1.) open up the cable cladding a good 4-5 inches back from the tip to give you lots of space...

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

Can I use this simplification of sensor size on my business webpage? :) #1 question I get when talking about installing Dahua cameras is the sensor size. It's hard to explain, but you make it sound easy to understand.

Newbie with the most basic installation set-up questions

I do there is a code to keep electrical 110vac at a distance from each other... not too sure what it is. But yes...wise to put as much distance from 110vac or 220vac from networking cable. Doing it by yourself... is fun. But comes with lots of frustration. Many unknowns to beat head against...

Newbie with the most basic installation set-up questions

instead of 2 or 3 holes the size of 1", why not simply go 2" hole? At work and residential, the cleaner look is to use EMT conduit for a pathway instead of cables magically appearing out of a ceiling hole. There is no way to make it look pretty if you have cable popping down a hole, no matter...

Newbie with the most basic installation set-up questions

I stand corrected. I would never pull 16 Cat5e or 16 Cat6 through a 1" hole due to my business / professional demon on my left shoulder says tight fit with no room for additional cables a couple weeks down the road. But my little DIY angel on the right shoulder says do it and worry about...

Newbie with the most basic installation set-up questions

#1: do NOT put your switch in a bad heated place. You will need access to it very often here & there for edits/changes. #2: buy whatever cable you can afford. CCA is not advised, but it is cheaper. Downside is that it is more highly fragile than copper (it breaks, it stretches) but I have...

Cameras droping out without a reason...?

Unsure what NVR you have. But I know Dahua NVR, have to be careful using NVR AI versus Camera AI. There is a cap limit of bandwidth, ports, system resources if you only use NVR AI.

    Hello from Louisville, advice appreciated..

I'm slowly turning into a independent contractor for CCTV! Been talking and ordering alot from Andy, of late. However, no touchy analog / BNC. Of course, only service Northern Nevada, not nationwide. If someone came to me with 40 BNC analog cameras, I wouldn't take the project period. Most...

Recognize and Identify camera location recommendations

If an option, stick a post with post light (mine glass lantern ontop of the post was destroyed from a wind storm recently) at end of driveway. Run 2, 3, or 4 underground Cat6 cables to it (could be 6" trench, 12", 24", conduit or not). I ran 5 cables to mine. 1 to power the Bosch PIR (the...

    2023 and 2024 Models Update

If only I remember what I post a number of years ago :) Was able to use IE and download the plugin. I can now see 100% of everything. Was able to do the fancy VR images I saw on Andy's YouTube 4k360 8mp fisheye camera video. Also could do to the 5MP fisheye camera as well (pretty cool).

I'll also reply here, Andy for the IPC4K360 (IPC-EBW81242N-AS-S2) I just received from you. Saw your YouTube video of the different de-warped VR tunnel & circular images. This is EXACTLY the kind of eye candy I want to show to potential clients. We also have the IPC-FE541-AS 5MP Fisheye...
