Yes to both of them. The PTP is much easier, doesn't require tools and has a single, full length aluminum baffle. The RDS is a series of aluminum cups, but requires a spanner tool to unscrew.
I guy out of Ocala, FL built this one for me about 10 years ago. It's all legit - had to get a trust, do the NFA tax stamp and wait for the form 4 to come back approved - I think it took just under a year to complete the process.
It's a simple design, no Nielson device, so it'll only work on...
S&W M&P15-22. Shooting 22LR subsonic with a suppressor. Super quiet. Downside is, unless it's a head/heart shot, it won't be a clean kill. The suppressor will fit my AR-15 (.223/5.56) but the 3000+FPS round going down range is loud enough to wake my kiddos (and neighbors). Just too loud...
I just wanted to concur that once you have it configured correctly, it is wonderful. If you're not proficient with command line stuff, it's a bit of learning curve. But it's worth the effort. I had to push through.
One step I missed that caused me all kinds of grief was turning on the...
So apparently he added his PC's LAN IP address to the allowed whitelist on an older PC that was recently upgraded to new hardware. BI must cache the MAC addresses of the IP's in the whitelist. So the IP no longer matched the MAC of the new PC. He deleted it, and it started working again...
The very next night, a bobcat came back to the same spot (video of cat at coop door shows the size). It was significantly larger than the one in videos above. So I am certain it was not the same one. Fortunately, I was able to take a shot that resulted in the same type of reaction (cat...
He has a nonstandard port. It's been that way for years with no issues. Both internal and external use the 8882 port. It is this way to prevent brute force attempts on standard ports. It really cuts down on attacks. Good eye...
Keep in mind it is only this new client Win 10 PC that is...
I don't know how I missed that one. Was that entirely automatic or did you coax it into staying on him? You could tell that he figured out the camera was there just after putting up the mask and hoodie, and as he's walking down the street, he's contemplating what to do... proceed knowing you...
I'm helping out my brother with his UI3. He's getting this:
Oddly it's only happening when he tries to connect via the local IP address. When he logs in via the DDNS wan name for the server, it comes up just fine. It's specific to this win10 pc. Other pcs and devices on his lan have no...
I debated whether to post this, but figured it highlights success, so why not. This bobcat has been poaching my chickens quite successfully for over year. I've tried leg snap traps, sitting in a blind high up in a tree, but he would never show, or was too smart for the traps.
Until...
just add -0.0.0.0 to your webserver ip access list. It's under global settings, web server, advanced. A single "banned" IP fixes the issue. Ken said the next release will fix this automatically.
Ok, for once, I figured something out before Ken. My brother's nearly identical system was able to run 2.3 w/o any remote access issues. So I had him send me a screen shot of his advanced webserver tab. They were identical to mine, except he actually had a few banned IPs (-xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)...
Looks like I've stymied Ken... He says he has to think about a solution to the problem I'm seeing. Has something to do with the limit access by ip box. I have only admin whitelisted IPs (^LAN_IP) for my Roku TVs and HASSIO system. Nothing black listed or auto banned. He seems to think that a...
I appreciate you trying this. I'm pretty certain it's a gremlin in the latest release. It works on .2.2 but not .2.3 and is repeatable with reinstalls/downgrades. I've already sent an email to Ken. I'm pretty simple using unique port forward so no VPN or other go-betweens that could be the...
Does it work using UI3 web page in browser? I don't really use the app for anything other than push notifications. I've had past instances where the mobile app was able to connect and UI3 couldn't - or vice versa, so I presume they use different pathways.
FWIW, with .2.3 I get "access to IP ADDRESS is denied". Made sure it wasn't blocking IP in webserver. No issues. I backed down to .2.2 and full functionality is restored. Something got borked with .2.3 for webserver access.
ETA: Reinstalled .2.3 and sure enough it goes back to showing...
Noticing the "Large DB may impact performance" warning tonight, I found this thread. I ran the compact/repair function and it did resolve the red error, but after closing and reopening the console (my BI is running as a service), the error returned:
Interestingly, the "index" time...
I don't know about anyone else, but every time I get an alert for this thread, I get really excited... One of these days we'll hopefully have a eureka moment...
I get that. I was getting these randomly on the stable versions as well. Only today did it STB with no recording at all. I was hoping the 665 error would point to a specific problem. I've just fired off an email to Ken.
I am getting these errors all afternoon. I just now had time to investigate what's going on. The entire time, NOTHING has been recording - whether clip or alerts.
More than anything, I'd like to know how to keep this from happening. I'm running UI3 version 229, Blue Iris version: 5.7.0.3...
Wow, what's the backstory on this one? The guy standing next to the car while it was hopping the bushes (purple shirt) seemed to get a pretty good view of the driver/tag. Was it a stolen vehicle? And what happened with the video glitching. Seems like the best part is missing.
I will give that a go, thanks. As for the angle, it's never changed, and the detection was nearly 100% prior to the update of the CodeProjectAI to 206. In fact, none of the default settings were change with respect to AI or substream configs. My CPU runs almost non-stop at 100% now too any...
I am struggling to get my AI to work properly after upgrading the CodeProject to 206.
These are my settings for the camera:
Sometimes it catches the same vehicle coming, but not leaving, and other times, it catches them leaving, but not coming.
For example, this video shows the school bus...
I think a lot of it has to do with your location. I'm in a very rural area, and all delivery drivers are super polite and considerate. They even put the boxes inside plastic bags if it's threatening to rain. Even though they're under an 8' porch roof.
Look up Shawn Woods (Mousetrap Monday) on YT. The guy has reviewed hundreds (if not thousands) of traps and products to fight rodents. He reviews/tests them quite objectively with cameras and timers. It is surprising to see how few things actually work.
So I would like a given camera to record with any motion detected by the camera. And I'd like to set up a "trip wire" where if it is crossed, it sends an alert.
Using the motion detection, I have set up zone A to trigger with any movement anywhere in the image.
I set zone B as a line, and...
