Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

For getting decent results (capturing moving subjects) the exposure time is critical- that's why both were set at 1/150 s. (1/150 for the Hik, 6.67mS for the Dahua.) I chose 1/150 as that is what I've been running since putting the Colorvu's up. The Dahua has manual gain control- as I mentioned...

Exactly why I posted the examples. Same lighting conditions and exposure times.

Hivision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR - change resolution of manual captures higher than 1920x1080?

Is there a way to change the resolution of manual captures (e.g. when playing back footage you click on the capture icon) from 1920x1080 to the full resolution of the camera? Mine does 1920 x 1080 Jpegs for 8MP cameras and I can't find any option to change it. I'm running 4 series firmware.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Yes, that can be an issue! I update a couple of cameras every 3 to 4 years. The Colorvu's have definitely been a big step up in low light performance. I've updated two cameras in the backyard with a different model 8MP- with IR capabilities- as I don't want the backyard lit up with visible...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

For anyone wanting to compare the Hikvision Colorvu G2 8MP cameras to one of the older low light favourites, the 2MP varifocal Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z (with a 1/2.8 sensor, the camera locked in colour mode.) Both were set to 1/150s with the gain on the 5231 adjusted to around 70. (Even that was...

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

What firmware are you running? I don't have that option in the menu on mine. Are the LEDs both the same- not different spreads like a wide and spot?

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Your IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E (I assume that's the model you mention above) has a " 1/2.8" 2MP Progressive Scan Starvis CMOS " sensor- apparently the same sensor/ size as the previously mentioned older 2MP Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z? But with a much more powerful 64mm max f1.4 lens (horizontal FOV 59 to only...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

The 4mm 8MP G2 Colorvu outperforms the Hik 3MP varifocal DS-2CD2H35FWD-IZS, even with the 3MP zoomed in with a much narrower FOV. Both for light sensitivity and clarity (detail) e.g. reading number plates at the same distance. You're looking at specs for colour at 0.005 lux compared to 0.0005 lux.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

The Colorvu 8MP G2 easily outperforms the 2MP Dahua Starlight varifocal I replaced and the Hikvision 3MP "Powered by Dark Fighter" (fixed and varifocal versions.) Technology is improving all the time. Simply stating a 2MP outperforms a 4K/ 8MP at night is wrong- it all depends on what camera...

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

It should match fairly well. It's not a really yellow warm white, more probably between natural white and warm. I'm not aware of individual LED control (unlike some other Hik cameras which have a high and low beam setting for IR.)

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

It's a warm colour - assuming it's the same as the other Colorvu G2 cameras. You can change the white balance settings on the camera's GUI if you find the scene colour temp isn't to your liking.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Given you're looking at going from 2MP to 8MP that will compensate somewhat. For the Hik Colorvu it's setup in the camera's web GUI - you select "Motion" or "Intrusion" and can tick "Human" and "Vehicle" as options. Then select "Notify Surveillance Center" and it tags the events on my NVR...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

How far have you got it zoomed in? That's one of the cameras I recently replaced, if you're using the full zoom capability then you might be better off going for the Colorvu bullet @Parley mentioned- which can be bought with a 6mm lens. DS-2CD2T87G2-L The turret version only comes in 2.8 and...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

8MP Colorvu 4mm turret, the garage door is about 4m from the camera. Contrast turned down to improve detail in shadows. Edit: the verandah post is 2.1m from the camera and Hik specs say focus distance is 3.6m to infinity for the 4mm 8MP 2387. The rego on the neighbour's red car can easily be...

Can you contact the city / company in charge of fixing the street lights and log a job for them to trim the tree? I did that on the website for the company that maintains the lights locally and they came out and trimmed the tree back.

I've found the results are better using multiple light sources- of a lower intensity- than trying to light the whole area with one super bright light. Or, if youve got one bright source, dont have it near the camera. The reason being if someone gets close to the camera a bright light can cause...

You could put up solar PIR lights - these are incredibly bright Leclstar 268 LED . They can either be off until motion is detected or dimly lit until motion. I've got a few where my Colorvu cameras are for extra lighting (and as an additional deterrent.)

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

You need to check the FOV specs as a 4mm lens on one camera won't necessarily be the same FOV as another model. The sensor size comes into it as well. The 4mm 4MP Colorvu turret FOV is 95 degrees DS-2CD2347G2-L(U) , the 4mm 8MP is 88 degrees. DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) Check the specs on your old camera.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

It's harder to ID someone with a wider FOV at the same distance (i.e. smaller magnification lens on the same camera model.) So it's best to not go any wider than necessary. DORI numbers are supposed to give a rough guide.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

If you're going for Hikvision that shouldn't disappoint, I'm not sure how Dahua compare. Be aware having a super bright built in light on the camera itself may give impressive distant night vision, but will likely wash out facial features (with fair coloured skin) when a person is close...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Yes, same sensor and same low light performance (going by Hikvisions spec for both.) I'm not sure why the min focus distance specs are different for the same focal length f1.0 lens?

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

? The specs say they both have the 1/1.2" sensor and the same 0.0005 lumen rating. https://www.hikvision.com/au-en/products/IP-Products/Network-Cameras/Pro-Series-EasyIP-/ds-2cd2087g2-l-u-/...

DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL - Dropping frames (?) whenever live view/HikConnect is launched.

LOL I spoke too soon. One (DS-2CD2386G2-IU) appeared to be glitching a couple of times last night on Live View. I'm 99% sure it's because I'm pushing the bandwidth limits on the NVR too far. It was related to the other cameras having motion occuring on them at the same time.

Did you get it fixed? I've now got two DS-2CD2386G2-IU that have been running for a couple of days. I haven't noticed anything untoward happening.

I updated one of mine to the UK firmware with the additional light control switching via motion- the light also comes on during the day if set to motion triggering. You can also set how many seconds you want it to stay on for.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

I've got two of these, both 4mm. One off an AliExpress store about 6mths ago, it came with the bottom of the box unsealed and had some focus issues. It wasn't from Empiretecandy. I recently adjusted the focus myself and its a lot better I just bought the second one from @EMPIRETECANDY and it's...

    8mp, 1/1.2, with IR

There is firmware that allows motion triggering for the built in light, but you do need some ambient light for them to "see" that motion. They won't work with little to no visible light.

    DS-2CD2347G2-LU no LED control

I tried some settings on mine thinking it may have disabled the light unless the camera was triggered, but instead I've got the light on dimly all the time. I'll have to upgrade to that firmware.

    DS-7608NI-I2/8P Help

Did you initially try loading a firmware from a different region- they can be region locked and you get that sort of gibberish when that's happened. The unlock file should have work though. There are some older posts on here with instructions on how to unlock them via the serial port. Searching...
