    Help figure out what's happening

It's a combination of the shutter and frequency of the LEDs. You can see it here with my LED Christmas lights. These are static lights and do not have any sort of programming. I was able to fix it by messing with the exposure settings.

Looking for advice on my install locations.

I may just commit to where they are now, and move them later if it's an issue. I like the thought of them being crossed, as opposed to a V if they were installed at the ends of the fence.

Looking for advice on my install locations.

I am happy with the Z4Es and would like to get the install finalized, but want to get advice on possibly testing another location first before I start buttoning everything up. Would it be worth testing installing them further down the fence, near the corners? I was surprised they work as well...

What can I change to improve ability to identify teenage delinquents

Shutter and settings aside (which definitely need adjusted), you are not going to be able to watch the area in front of the house and also ID in the street. Seeing someone is one thing, but identifying someone is another. Below are captures from my 2MP B52IR-X3 that has 3.6mm, 12mm, and 25mm...

Given the choice, personally, I would go with the 4MP and not the 8MP due to sensor size matching.

Do tripwires work at night with IR illumination?

I had to space some of my cameras down because of this issue with the soffit and gutter board. It doesn't take much for the IR to bounce back. You should also move the tripwire up on the screen. This will get it into the gate opening in 3D, even if it does not look that way in 2D. I believe...

Do tripwires work at night with IR illumination?

I am not the OP. My setup captures exactly what I want it to: people on the path walking from the left to the right. I was only giving an example of a simple tripwire in a pitch black scene. These are not the only cameras I have in this area. The sole job of these is to get captures on the...

Do tripwires work at night with IR illumination?

    1. What? 2. Motion would not give me one direction detection. 3. This camera overlooks a busy road. I do not want cars triggering it. 4. What?

Do tripwires work at night with IR illumination?

I only want A>B. If you use a zig zag it does not work that way.

Do tripwires work at night with IR illumination?

This scene has a single tripwire and not much light other than IR.

It could be anything. A lot of years and no skills. A few days and a lot of skills. No one knows because your questions are nonsensical. You are trying to manifest an improbable situation which has other, exponentially better, solutions.

Looking for advice on my install locations.

Even though my mini-PTZ has gotten better, I think I'm still going to be fighting it. And after seeing above, I might still be leaning towards a better one.

Looking for advice on my install locations.

That is what I am doing in this location. AS 2.8mm on one side of the gate with a ZE crossed over looking the other way, both with their own Z4E zoomed in on the path. I am undecided if I am going to leave the Z4Es where they are, or move them further down the fence to the corners for a clearer...

Looking for advice on my install locations.

I've known this, but I think I am going to stick to my guns going forward. I am not going to mess with anything less than a 5442 from now on, even if it is a 2MP on the right sensor. I got a couple Z4E-S3s from the refurb list and put them up over the path yesterday to test. This is what I got...

Looking for advice on my install locations.

It's been set that way for a while. I think the justification was that the camera is following the person, instead of them walking across the FOV, so it lessens the chance of blurring. I just made the iris change after the incident with the kids. Previously it was 10-70. My biggest concerns...

Looking for advice on my install locations.

Change of gears, for now. Same project, just discussing a different camera. I decided to take a swing at my mini-PTZ settings since I have time before the sale and I haven't committed to a new, better PTZ yet. After last night, and with the added IR from both X3 cams, I am still on the fence...

Camera thinks telephone pole is human

My PTZ would always try it's damnedest to track my fire hydrant. It stopped when I changed the FOV. Could you possible black out portions of the the pole, and not the entire thing? Areas where it wouldn't compromise the FOV for actual captures?
