Confusion around Day/Night switch utility and newer Dahua cameras

you can't contact with Dahua China directly - they don't talk with end-users... You must go by Your seller, it will use Dahua contact in Your country and then they can report a problem in firmware to Dahua China.

Confusion around Day/Night switch utility and newer Dahua cameras

second option is simply use one profile.. on most cased today there is no need to two separate profiles for day & night.. even in full manual mode you have RANGES for shutter time and gain - you can create one profile which will work nice in day & night...

Confusion around Day/Night switch utility and newer Dahua cameras

looks like firmware error.. you can try to do standard voodoo magic (upgrade firmware to latest, do default on camera to factory settings)... if this don't help then your should report this problem/error to your Dahua seller, which should report this to Dahua China and request fixed firmware..

Confusion around Day/Night switch utility and newer Dahua cameras

on modern UI5 cams there are two different functionalities: - Customized scene - where you have a few (8-9) manual profiles, which are switched automatically depending of the time of day in specific month using time plan settings. Default settings on all new cams is that Day profile is used for...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Even though I'm a huge supporter of open source solutions, I think you've fallen quite deeply into the world of fantasy and wishful thinking... Dahua is a large corporation with dozens of product lines. Their main asset, besides their brand, factories, and distribution network, is their...

    Mini-Review EmpireTech IPC-Color4M-T

34PRO (tioc-pro 3449).. I don't have triple lens cam - but it's listed in Dahua materials as camera with Xinghan AI. So it should have (on latest firmware) option to enable Large Scale AI Models in IVS -> Global config, you can try it....

    My review of the SDT8C842-8P-FA-APV-0280 2×1/1.8" CMOS 8MP 42x (versus the PTZ1A2M-25X 2MP 25×)

that's last picture is very soft / out-of-focus... This is probably because the shot captures the top of a nearby tree (bottom left corner of the photo). Next time, try capturing a shot where no close-up objects are visible... and the image in the distance is sharp... The color processing is...

    My review of the SDT8C842-8P-FA-APV-0280 2×1/1.8" CMOS 8MP 42x (versus the PTZ1A2M-25X 2MP 25×)

Focal lengths are bullshit data in CCTV cameras.. camera manufacturers cheat here all the time... You should look at horizontal Field of View: PTZ1A2M: SDT8: PTZ1A have horizontal FoV 58.5 to 2.8 degree horizontal - it's only 21x (58.5 / 2.8) zoom ratio.. not 25x :) SDT8 have horizontal...

Dahua NVR5208-XI (WizMind) — worth it or better options?

Yes - AcuPick must be supported by cam.. XI & EI2 models have limited capability to add AcuPick processing to a few non AcuPick cams.. But not EI (it's 2022 model with not so strong SOC / AI processor)..

Dahua NVR5208-XI (WizMind) — worth it or better options?

Yes, it supported... You must enable AcuPick mode on EI NVR's in NVR SmartPlan... And also AcuPick must be enabled on cameras (cam must support it)... XI and EI2 don't have those requirement (AcuPick is always enabled, XI/EI2 can add AcuPick to a few non AcuPick cams)...

How to deal with sunny vs stormy day in camera settings

NEVER (except ANPR and very specific configs where you know what are you doing) use constant shutter - like 1/500.. Always use full manual mode - where you shutter is between 0 and something.. if it's bright camera will use fast shutter, if dark camera will go to longer shutter times... this...

    Video Quality

The T180 is one of the worst choices you could have made for recording car license plates. The very wide viewing angle, lack of optical zoom, and severe horizontal distortion (everything is narrowed) make the plates difficult to read. In your case, the compression level is high – you should...

Can you mask certain areas where for IR only?

You could try cutting small pieces of electrical tape and gluing them to the appropriate spots on the IR LED lenses on the camera to black-out IR light around tree area... Or simply move/rotate the camera to the left so it doesn't show the tree in the center.

I see I've been misunderstood here. And unfortunately, I must now defend Dahua. Dahua isn't locking anything down. The market is simply such that only they implement their own functions in their own solutions. 1. ONVIF as a standard and organization is a dead body. In theory, they're developing...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I think this is one of the architecture decisions done 20 years ago, when Dahua started as company doing simple DVR recorders.. No one then was thinking about AI and possibility to have hundreds / thousands of events per hour per camera.. And no one want now to try to change this - to risky...

There is no connection between cameras - so no. Each camera will detect and turn on flood light alone. If you want support from many cams to many lights around house - you must do own lights around house, use electric relay to turn them on and connect that relay to ALARM-OUT on 5xxx NVR...
