    Dahua NVR encode settings?

I am trying to optimize the encode setting on my NVR5208-8P-4KS2 with WD Purple 4TB drive (in the future I will add another 4TB drive). I presently have 3 IPC-HDW2231R-ZS cameras installed and will add 5 more in the near future. By optimize I mean picture quality with efficient hard disk...

Three out of eight camera installed

I have 3 out of 8 IPC-HDW2231R-ZS cameras installed connected to a Dahua NVR5208-8P-4KS2. The two on the front and back entrances were easily mounted on the wooden ceiling. The one shooting down my driveway was a tough installation. The new house was built to Fortified Gold Standard home...

    Dahua NVR NVR5216-16P-4KS2E On Amazon

I have the 8 port version of the NVR (NVR5208-8P-4KS2) and it works great. I purchased it from Andy, and I highly recommend him. As for having individual POE ports on the NVR, it wasn't a problem since my NVR is centrally located in the house (laundry room). As for the internal fan, it is...

Dahau NVR5208 with USB wifi dongle.

I have been using a TP-Link powerline adapter on an old DVR for several years and it has never dropped connection. The few times I lost power once the power is back on it reconnects without a problem.

Dahau NVR5208 with USB wifi dongle.

Andy, Once again, thanks for your wisdom. I went ahead and used power line adapters between the NVR and router. I had to use them at my other house and they have worked out great. Thanks, Nick

Dahau NVR5208 with USB wifi dongle.

Andy, Do you have any recommendations for using a USB wifi dongle on the Dahau NVR5208-8P-4KS2 I purchased from you? I bought the dongle from a guy in Ireland that advertises that these work with Hikvision and Dahau NVRs. It is a Ralink RT5370 USB wifi dongle, and when plugged into the NVR it...

NVR5208-8P-4KS2 with wifi usb dongle won't connect.

I have a Ralink RT5370 USB wifi dongle for my Dahau NVR5208-8P-4KS2 and when plugged into the NVR it picks up all the routers in the vicinity. I entered all of my security information and it will not connect to the router. I tried both static and DHCP, and neither would connect. Has anybody...

    NVR5208-8P-4KS2 motion detection settings

I have a NVR5208-8P-4KS2 with the updated English firmware thanks to Andy. I noticed that the motion detection setting box for this unit does not have the bar graph. Was this feature eliminated?

Is CAT 5 OK for 4K camera system?

If it is a new installation then I would go with CAT6 or 5e. CAT5 100Mbps with max bandwidth of 100Mhz CAT5e 1Gbps with max bandwidth of 100Mhz CAT6 1Gbps with max bandwidth of 250Mhz But if you have a box of CAT laying around it will suffice, as you can see a 4K camera uses only 16% of...

    First day of grass cutting

Wish, I always do an inward spiral. I find this to be the most logical and efficient method of mowing grass. The only more efficient method for me would be to pay somebody else to do it, but I am too cheap.

    First day of grass cutting

I built a new house 3 hours away but haven't moved into it yet. Because of the distance, I contracted a lawn service to mow the grass. I have a camera pointed toward the front yard that is a 20 degree slope. I can't wait to see on the remote playback if they use a zero turn mower or a walk...

    Motion detection versus IVS??

Well, after a little work I finally got IVS enabled through the web interface. Now the big question, is intrusion or tripwire best for detecting parameter of a entry door to a house?

    Motion detection versus IVS??

catcamstar, It looks like a no go trying to enable IVS through the web interface. I went to event>smart plan and the IVS box was gray, I clicked on it and it turned yellow. Then I went to event>IVS and when I tried clicked on the "draw rule" it stayed gray and I couldn't draw on the anything...

    Motion detection versus IVS??

That would be a problem if I have to set it up on the camera since it is 190 miles away. Looks like I will have to wait until I get back over to the new house.

    Motion detection versus IVS??

Newby question here! I recently purchased 8 cameras (IPC-HDW2231R-ZS) and one NVR (NVR5208-8P-4KS2) from Andy for my new house that 3 hour drive away. I have two cameras installed, and have "Motion Detection" enabled. The front of the house camera falses a lot (shadows) while the back...

    Thank you!

I want to say, "thank you" to Andy! I recently purchased 8 cameras (IPC-HDW2231R-ZS) and one NVR (NVR5208-8P-4KS2) from Andy. Everything went well. Equipment was shipped out on Monday and I received it on Wednesday via DHL! I haven't hooked up the system yet at my new house, but I did...

    Camera mount options confusing.

Tony I saw that, now I have to decide where I need the PFA130-E. The soffit mount I probably won't need these, but any wall mount I will and some conduit from the junction box to the soffit. Once again, Thank you!

    Camera mount options confusing.

Tony Thank you! I did check out the Cliff notes, but didn't see the mount selection pdf. Mat200, It looks like these turrets don't have enough space for the RJ45 jack/plug with the plastic protector, plus it doesn't look like turret base is weather proof. Thanks! Nick

    Camera mount options confusing.

I have 8 IPC-HDW2231R-ZS turret cameras to mount. Some will be on walls, other are on ceilings. I an confused with all of the various mounts being offered such as PFA135, PFA136, PFA137, PFA138, PFA139, etc.. Hi Andy, I am looking at the Dahua NVR5208-8P-4KS2 8 Channel 1U 8PoE 4K&H.265 Pro Network Video Recorder NVR shipped to New Orleans Louisiana. Also can you include a price for the Dahua HAC-HDW2231R-Z Starlight camera? Typically, how long does it take to ship to USA? Thank you,

    Greatings from New Orleans.

Mike, So I can use a h.264 camera and the IPCT NVR will compress or convert the video to h.265? The reason I am asking I am on a tight budget since my new house went far over budget. I will have a maximum of 8 cameras, either all 4K or a combination of 2K and 4k. But I want to use h.265...

    Greatings from New Orleans.

I am planning to move to newly built house in southern Alabama and I want to get a nice PoE NVR. I have looked at the Dahua NVR5208-8P-4KS2 that supports h.265. I will require remote view access from my Android phone or Windows 10 laptop. I noticed IPcam store is selling an 8 channel unit...
