My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

Your first line of defense is to run any of the good antivirus software which will detect and eliminate any key loggers, Trojans, and viruses.

NVR continually contacts many Dahua Websites

Still, Dahua should disclose this in their documentation and state the purpose, and what data is being sent back and forth. P2P is off, and all ports are closed. Firewalla set to block all outgoing and incoming connections except for mine. I remember setting up a honeypott years ago that was...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I was going to purchase a N100 mini computer and install OPSense (Linux install), but instead I purchase the little Firewalla Purple SE (I don't need wifi) but does have BlueTooth. I really like the Firewalla Purple SE, it is easy to configure and I love being able to access it from my...

NVR continually contacts many Dahua Websites

WTH! I installed a firewall in front of my NVR5208-8P-4KS2E, (firmware V4.002.0000000.7.R.240717) and noticed it continually tries to contact many Dahua servers, including their international servers in China and Europe. Nowhere do I find any information, documents or warning that the NVR will...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I had the exact problems several weeks ago. I ended up installing a Firewalla Purple firewall. I thought about purchasing a firewall appliance and install OPNsense which has a learning curve for proper setup. So instead bought the Firewall, It stopped the penetration into my NVR. I did have...

Multiple Dahua locations trying to gain access to NVR

Thank you for the explanation. I disabled all port forwarding on my main ISP router. I did a open port scan from my public IP address side and everything looks closed now. I still like to know why Dahua from multiple locations are accessing the NVR.

Multiple Dahua locations trying to gain access to NVR

I thought P2P still required an open port? If not how does it penetrate the router/firewall?

Multiple Dahua locations trying to gain access to NVR

Can You tell from firewall logs on which port numbers (source & destination) and which protocol (tcp, udp) those transmissions were done? this will allow to specify method used to those attacks.. Yes, I have the standard 37777 port open for remote viewing and of course port 80 for webviewer. No...

Dahua V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware

Very true! That was why I was very hesitant to upgrade from V3.216.0000002.0.R.20181106 to most recent version. The only reason was for security updates. I did send an email to Dahua support notifying them of the issue (which probably will fall on deaf ears and not be dealt with).

Dahua V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware

It must be the firmware upgrade. Cameras zoomed great with the older firmware, and they zoom great when I directly access them with IE.

Dahua V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware

Same thing happens in Edge IE mode. Interesting. In Palemoon a box pops up when I try to zoom stating "Need to control PTZ in the realtime monitoring status. " . Not sure why this is happening, I am in "Live mode when trying to zoom.

    P2P Safety & Secure?

I always access the NVR either at the NVR or through web browser on my private network. I seldom use P2P, but that port was open. They were able to log into the admin account. QR code, serial number or password has never been put on the web or made public. I knew Dahua did have a backdoor...

    P2P Safety & Secure?

Just last week I saw my NVR (Dahua 5208-8p-4KS2E) had rebooted around midnight. I checked the logs and saw a couple of different IP addresses (European IP address) had gain access to the NVR. Luckily, nothing malicious was done, just viewing cameras. I have very strong password for the log in...
