    BI suddenly showing "Disabled"

Yup on the General tab of the camera settings, there is a checkbox "Enabled" and also when you right click a camera, near the top of the context menu is an "Enable" or "Disable" button.

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

Real on-camera digital zoom is better than if it is only implemented in the video player alone. I wonder if that is what the Amcrest are doing. When digital zoom is done within the camera before video compression, you avoid basically all loss of detail from compression artifacts.

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

We used to have one of the old first-generation Ubiquiti Aircam in there because it was trivially easy to remove the front cover, unscrew the lens, and swap the lens with any focal length you wanted, even with IR support (which that camera didn't natively have). I forget what format of lens it...

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

Just trying to read the dials with confidence in all lighting conditions. I'm not sure if the little one by itself to the far right is relevant. This one looks possibly promising at $80 from Annke directly. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/annke-wz520-ptz.80933/ Sounds like the Blue Iris...

Internal AI Causing Massive CPU/Memory Usage?

I don't use AI with Blue Iris (yet..) but I recall there was an issue where Blue Iris had a way-too-high default for the number of AI instances it was running. I think this is "max connects" in Blue Iris Settings > AI tab. It should be set to something like 4 or less...

Great to know, thanks. That one would have been a waste of time then.

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

For reference this is the existing view, the old Dahua 2MP varifocal at max optical zoom. You can see it is marginal at best for reading these gauges.

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

I'm looking for as cheap as possible of camera to watch a small panel of analog gauges on industrial equipment, indoors. It needs to meet these criteria: Able to zoom to 20 degree horizontal FOV or narrower. More zoom is very welcome. RTSP video streaming 1080p or higher resolution (unless...

Will Blue Iris for Mobile work with Android 7.1 (Nougat)?

Since that is PoE powered I assume that means it is not reliant on WiFi for networking, which is great. I expect UI3 will run perfectly with a 1080p stream and you could even edit the streaming profile to increase the quality and bit rate since it is a little low by default. Something like...

Will Blue Iris for Mobile work with Android 7.1 (Nougat)?

Also every version of UI3 ever released is available to download on github so you can extract an older copy and load it forever if that ever becomes necessary. Blue Iris is pretty good about maintaining backwards compatibility so that older apps and integrations don't get broken.

Will Blue Iris for Mobile work with Android 7.1 (Nougat)?

It is a near certainty that UI3 will work if the official app doesn't.

Trying to figure out this memory leak

As another troubleshooting step you could try swapping the video codec (h.264 vs h.265) or lowering the main stream resolution, to see if maybe Blue Iris just had a decoding bug only affecting some streams.

Trying to figure out this memory leak

I run several FCD600 and they are all fine. If hardware acceleration is enabled in Blue Iris, turn that off. In Blue Iris Status > Cameras, you should have hyphens under the HA column.

    Blue Iris UI3

Phones have file browser apps too, they just are not in-your-face as much as on windows/mac/linux, and the average phone user may never need to use it. Anyway you can use UI3's local overrides system to add anything you want to UI3, including changing the default settings. Read this: UI3 Help...

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

I've been saying for years they should make an IP cam with a very high resolution sensor and good lens like you would find in a $300-$1000 handheld camera. Or a DSLR like a professional photographer would use. Doesn't matter if they can't do the sensor justice will full motion video. Because...

Looks like 10gig is becoming increasingly affordable

I started using 10 Gbps for the backbone of my LAN in 2019. The affordability was pretty great even then. You just had to do a little research into what to buy on ebay. I was getting used Mellanox ConnectX-2 cards for around $21-26 each. These each offered one SFP+ (10 Gbps) port. SFP+...

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

That quote is really more opinion than fact. It is a fact that a "4K" camera has at least 20x more pixels than a typical old analog camera. It is an opinion that having all those pixels makes longer focal lengths worthless. It has been shown many, many times on this forum how longer focal...

There is no documentation of how to hide other elements but it is extremely straightforward with even the most basic web development skills. An AI chat bot may be able to help you. To get you started, ui3-local-overrides.css can be given this rule to hide the playback settings button...

    NVR with 32TB HD's need 120 days

I think the i-frame interval setting is inapplicable when H265+ is enabled, so the field gets disabled or hidden. In that case, don't worry about i-frame interval. How many of what size hard drives do you have? Do you need to record continuously (24/7), or is recording on motion detection...

    NVR with 32TB HD's need 120 days

Constant bit rate is more predictable. Variable bit rate is allowed to go below the configured limit to extend the retention time in a way you will not be able to predict as well. H.265+ is probably the best option you have for maximizing the image quality at a given bit rate. If you have one...

    V6 Keeps Closing/Crashing

Blue Iris is not super stable to begin with (although it depends very much on your individual configuration and hardware). It is best to run Blue Iris as a service so it restarts automatically if it crashes. See Blue Iris Settings > Startup.

Linux Users - What is your favorite distribution and why?

You know it is funny. I'm a professional software developer who is pretty deeply entrenched in Microsoft technologies (.NET, SQL Server, Windows Server, etc) and it feels like they (Microsoft) has been going out of their way to make it easier for us to move our server stuff onto Linux and...

why specs doesnt have sensor size ?

I imagine people still using analog HD (coax cable) cameras are less discerning about performance, and just haven't pressured Hikvision to be less lazy about writing the specs. What the AI answer said about analog cameras not listing their sensor sizes "because they utilize very small image...

I really screwed up and opened an email that looks like I have been hacked

What kind of router is it? Try accessing it from an Incognito / Private browsing window since that should (A) have no addons enabled, and (B) use an entirely fresh state with no conflicting cookies or authentication tokens or anything like that. Email sender addresses are very easily spoofed...
