Cant Figure It Out - Blue Iris Alerts - Going Nuts

Probably Zerotier's fault. The service has been going downhill. Switch to Tailscale.

Can the cameras in BI6 not be arranged the same way as in BI5?

Most or all of Blue Iris 6's layout differences were done in Blue Iris 5, so I'm guessing you were running quite an old version of BI 5. You're probably referring to the old "1-up", "4-up", etc options. Those are still available, but you need to click the "edit layout" button Then right...

The future of Ubiquiti - it does not seem they will go down a slippery slope and do bad for their customers

I am curious what is the difference between a regular network switch and one that is optimized for "AV" streaming. Because generally speaking a regular wired ethernet switch will have only a few microseconds of latency and 0% packet loss at virtually all times (unless the stuff you plug into...

T-Mobile 5G Home Internet AND Blue Iris

20-50 Mbps is a lot more than enough for good remote camera viewing. The performance issue is probably just from bad latency and/or packet loss. Unless your VPN solution is relayed through a third party that isn't performing well.

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

Yup I have no idea what is wrong then. Better email BI support and hopefully they will have some idea. I'm guessing they will need you to export the BI settings and send to them.

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

Also worth a look at your Streaming 0 profile configuration in Blue Iris (find this in BI Settings > Web server > Advanced) and reset that profile to defaults.

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

Ok there is something strange going on. The camera config looks fine, and the BI Status > Cameras looks fine (except that sub stream frame rates are mostly lower than the main stream, but I doubt that is related to this resolution issue). One problem is, it appears Blue Iris is reporting that...

UI3 doesn't switch to main stream when viewing single camera (Live View and Timeline)

I am unaware of any recent bugs that would cause this. The only way I know of to have UI3 get "stuck" with a substream is to restart the camera while UI3 is actively streaming it. At least in the past, Blue Iris would fail to switch to sending the main stream if UI3 requested the video feed...

HTTPS web server not starting up when Blue Iris Starts but can be started manually

You should contact Blue Iris support about it. It is definitely broken and with no hint of what is wrong, that is really the only thing I can think of to do. Service mode is a good idea even if only just so that if Blue Iris crashes it will start again automatically.

I Fell Down the Pixel Rabbit Hole

Not bad for $600 I guess, at least until the lamp dies. I'm curious how it compares with the cheap 98" TV. The sheer mass of such a TV scares me off. The hassle to move and install it, to dispose of it when it stops working or otherwise becomes obsolete. It is too much for me. That is why I...

I Fell Down the Pixel Rabbit Hole

For sure, a lot of people's TVs are some combination of too small and too far away for 4K resolution to be "worth it". I have a 150 inch projection screen and my current projector is only 1080p. But because my typical viewing distance is roughly 17 feet, I cannot really discern individual...

HTTPS web server not starting up when Blue Iris Starts but can be started manually

Check Blue Iris's log to see if it mentions anything about the web server. If they went to the effort of putting a warning/error icon into the user interface, they might have logged something. Or the icon might have a tooltip if you mouse over it. One fairly common obstacle is having multiple...

Remote access issue with BI 6

@Techie007L didn't really explain why it is happening. The theory is that you could be getting burned by Blue Iris's new "security" features which automatically ban IP addresses suspected of being unwanted automated traffic. You can search the Blue Iris 6 changelog for the word "ban" to find...

Package Thief flips my house off

Other people can stream your feed.

Consider doing a youtube livestream. There are also some dedicated IP camera streaming services out there but they charge a subscription fee whereas youtube will let you livestream for free. Many other solutions are going to involve a much bigger learning curve and potential risks. For...

Things my spouse or partner does that drives me nuts!

I have many of the same gripes but not from a spouse or partner. I live with two brothers. One of them is a big-time germophobe, so he almost can't walk past a sink without washing his hands. That would be fine, except he gets water everywhere because he always goes for paper towels before...

UI3 version: 320 Blue Iris version: 6.0.5.1 - White screen

A white-screen failure is new to me. You say the screen turns completely white except for a red error box. Is it actually the entire screen or is it only the rectangle used by the video player? Can you recognize if the error box is one of UI3's error toast messages? They look like this near...

Holy crap, $450 for a WD purple 10TB drive now!

For years I have just been buying used or refurbished hard drives. Only those verified to have no bad sectors. And I've had no more failures than I used to get from buying new. The prices are a lot higher than they used to be but I believe they are still cheaper than buying new. Ebay tends...

CPU usage after upgrading to BI 6 ?

They did mess around with hardware acceleration around the end of BI 5.x and start of 6.x. You should complain to Blue Iris support because that is a huge performance regression. In the meantime, are you using sub streams in your Blue Iris configuration? It'll save a massive amount of CPU if...

@lasocean best to email Blue Iris support about it if you have time. It is not a UI3 bug -- it is Blue Iris.

Full screen video streams are in slow motion post BI6 update

Well I know BI 6 broke and then fixed (months later) the Nvidia hardware encoding. I don't know what if anything changed with decoding. I really don't know what else could be wrong to cause this. Everything you've shown or told me about your configuration seems like it should be fine. Seems...

Full screen video streams are in slow motion post BI6 update

I do see that you are currently using Nvidia hardware decoding on all those cameras. I do not know if that is in a good functional state right now but my past experience with Blue Iris's hardware acceleration says you just shouldn't use it anymore.

Full screen video streams are in slow motion post BI6 update

That helps yeah. Oh, for some reason they labeled the hardware acceleration dropdown "Hardware assist" in that panel, I didn't realize that. The encoder settings all look fine (which they should; they look like the defaults!). The status screenshot shows proper, consistent setup of codecs...

Full screen video streams are in slow motion post BI6 update

I am not familiar with this. Can you screenshot? Weird compatibility issue I guess. H.265 is likely to never be as robust as H.264 in web browsers. And even H.264 has issues sometimes. This doesn't make sense to me. If you contact support about it, I think it would be a good idea to...

    Bullet proof power supply build

For a smaller ecoflow kit (1024 watt hours if that is enough for your purpose) there is Delta 3 Classic for around $450. I use one right now as a UPS for my gaming computer with an RTX 5090 in it, because a traditional UPS could not quite handle the peak watt load, not to mention the pathetic...

    Bullet proof power supply build

If you really want to build it all out with your own choice of batteries, inverter, charge controller, etc, then you should be able to find 5 kWh server rack style LiFePO4 batteries for around $800 each which is a steal. Wiren | Server Rack Battery | 48V 100AH currently out of stock there but...

Merged/Spanned Disks in BlueIris - Possible?

Blue Iris will even let you record to a network share so I am sure whatever spanning solution you find will create a new drive letter in Windows, and Blue Iris will be fine with it. As others have noted, the main concern is "what happens to the spanned pool if a drive fails?" I used to use...

Full screen video streams are in slow motion post BI6 update

Hardware acceleration has been known to cause dumb issues like this sometimes in Blue Iris. When you tried turning off hardware acceleration, are you talking about encoding or decoding or both? When turning off hardware accelerated decoding, each camera instance needs to be restarted before it...

    Blue Iris UI3

Ahhh man I don't know. In that one, the video player ACTUALLY stalled and the stall detection did not kick in. The stall detection code that shows the yellow toast message "Detected HTML5 video player stall. Reopening video stream" is not user-configurable, and it looks for very specific...

    Blue Iris UI3

If you are running Blue Iris 6, then typically the Blue Iris 5 folder is not used anymore. Blue Iris 6 installs by default into a folder with no number in the name. Just "Blue Iris".
