Yes, it happened all of the sudden. In the past few minutes, I tried an old PoE switch I had on hand. Using the Extend Mode it was able to connect. However, the connection was too slow and clips were very choppy with stuttering in them.
I looked at the 54IR connector. The pins weren't shiny like new, but I didn't see any obvious corrosion. I also replaced the ends on the cable and that didn't change the results. That 54IR has been in service for probably 3 years or so with no issues.
I have a POE switch in my garage, and from that switch a 200 foot ethernet cable to a 54IR camera from Andy.
A few days ago this camera quit working and showed no signal in Blue Iris and I was also unable to connect to it via a web browser. I took an very old spare camera that I had and...
I was adjusting one of my 54IRs today and notice the outside of the camera ball felt pretty hot. I got my thermal heat measuring gun and it showed the temperature to be 127°. Is that within the range? Thanks
I’m using onboard IVS triggers from my 54IRs to trigger alerts in BI via ONVIF.
Recently, I’ve decided to play around and see how UniFi Protect works, since I have a full UniFi network.
Protect supports third party cameras by using ONVIF to receive alerts from each adopted camera. In order...
Yeah, Protect must report them differently for some reason. I don't expect to stop using BI, Since I have a Unifi network, I thought I'd just play around with Protect to see how the third party camera support worked.
Looks really interesting. All 17 of my 54IRs are configured to use on-board IVS and AI to trigger ONVIF alerts in BI. While testing Protect, I noticed that the iOS app interface seemed better than the BI app for me. This could possibly allow me to use my camera configuration as is and then use...
I'm running a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro and the latest release version of Protect. I have created motion zones with the highest sensitivity and to record events only. Getting no recordings at all. Continuous recording works as expected.
Thanks @wittaj, I would like to be able to be able to see someone walking up to 20' from the camera and flood light. Once I get a flood light set up, I'll do some testing. I'm asking about lumens because I want something just bright enough and not super bright considering neighbors.
For those of you running a 54IR at night and getting full color with a motion floodlight, how many lumens do you need? Also, what are good settings to get full color? Thanks!
Also, I adopted 5 54IRs all running the exact same firmware. Unifi Protect sees them with different recording resolutions. I don't really ever see Protect replaces BI as my solution, but I was curious to test it out after the recent update.
Same here, I adopted several 54IRs, set up motion zones with the highest sensitivity and I'm not getting any events recorded. Zones are the only option I see, no line crossing. I'm currently running Protect v7.1.60.
No ALPR, strickly slow moving vehicles, people and wildlife. Are you concerned about the 20 lag in alert notifications because of the "impossible" object in the cancel box? I really appreciate the reply.
