New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

@jacha What is the model number of your NVR? BTW here using Opex combo PIR / Cameras modified with Hikvision POE Camera boards. The camera is very old and has weathered fine and very modular. Very stealthy and looks like an oversized PIR. I put 5MP 38mm board inside. Using two catxx cables...

Could you suggest a software solution? Personally here have always used Zoneminder. It is Linux based and free. Currently running it on Ubuntu 20.04 That said I am also currently running Blue Iris on a Windows 2016 server and it does well for running in Windows. I would recommend running...

Creating ONVIF feed for old IP camera

ONVIF individual camera MFGs have changed much over the years. They each had their own standards so unless you edit the firmware then it will not be an easy fix. What is nice is that the older cameras did do RTSP, JPG and MJPG capturing. That said I would switch to using RTSP or MJPEG...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

What Doorbell camera model are you using? What is the hardware and firmware version that you have installed? The firmware has to have the ability to do ONVIF and I enabled that with the Batch Configuration program. Off the shelf some firmware is documented already to include ONVIF. IE: Here...

Any IP-based doorbell working only in LAN without requiring "cloud" services?

Yes an intermittent connection to your doorbell would be sufficient to send out a text or email to your cell phone via automation software like Homeseer or Home Assistant. Which hikvision model are you referring to? I purchased the Nelly DB over a year ago and then upgraded it to Hikvision...

Any IP-based doorbell working only in LAN without requiring "cloud" services?

Welcome to the forum @Mauro70 Here utilize a generic LTE (to T-Mobile) cellular combo modem / router / firewall / wireless AP as my back up to the internet in case the main internet doesn't function. I am suggesting an alternative transport to your ADSL internet transport. You can purchase an...

Good news @kamakazie2. Do you have any other devices (iOT) using same SSID / radio? Alexa / Google? Do you have a RPi up on wireless that you can tinker with? Are you OK with using Linux SSH and Linux command line stuff? Next go to Hikvision Batch configuration and bring the frame rate down...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Is the DB dropping off the network or is it powering off or resetting itself? Do you have connectivity logs on your Wireless access point? Older SOHO routers do not do wireless very well. Overheating et al. Remove it for a bit from BI and keep doing a ping to the device.

Yet another post about router choice...

Just configured an OpenVPN server on an Asus combo router in LAS a few weeks back for the purpose of configuring a Speco NVR and a few cameras. Took 5 minutes to configure OpenVPN server on this router. This is the first time I have ever done anything to this router or even used one of these...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Relating to WiFi here have left the DB connected via 2.4Ghz and using a dedicated SSID / radio on the Ruckus WAP just for this device. I have done similar with Alexa devices (on their own SSID), Wifi Tasmota and WiFi Espurna devices all using 2.4Ghz versus 5.0Ghz. That is me though. Don't...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Using the HikVision Batch configuration application here have disabled audio and motion detection. It seems to be working. For a long time I was using the Onvif to hardware motion detection but it was way too sensitive and I could never really adjust it. I also installed a tiny 433Mhz outdoor...
