Introducing: UniFi Protect G6 Edge Cameras | NVR + Edge AI + Camera. One device.

it's not.. it's simple POE+... Please remember those Edge cameras have Ubiquity NVR and Ubiquity AI Key built-in.. They can work STANDALONE in any network, without Ubiquity NVR (they use SD-CARD as storage).. PS. Availabity from Q3 2026.. I don't know why they introduce them now...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

All options you mentioned are video processing options done in SOC (processor) - in mixed software & hardware solution. Not at image sensor level. The only image settings which change image sensor behavior are: shutter time, gain (aka ISO) and full WDR (>= 45 or 50 depending of camera model)...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

@bigredfish We don't know that.. SmartSense sensors were used for many years in non AI-ISP (classic video processing) Full Color cams (HIK vuColor and some Dahua Full Color) and they have comparable night color performance to 5442... For some reason they were used in Full Color cams - probably...

URGENT!!! There will be new DMSS 2.0 and new cloud account mode & new cloud video streaming

There is always only one account which is true owner and admin of device (in Dahua cloud way). And it can give access for device to many more users. If company don’t have admin / device owner, then you can be that person / account in DMSS

EOM (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 announced

yes, they use the same SOC and firmware as 54PRO... But image sensor for 99% is different... Both HIK & Dahua have AI-ISP only for Smart Sense sensors. I don't know why - maybe some AI-ISP processing is simply done on image sensor and not on SOC... 5x59-PRO have 4/6/8 Mpx models on 1/1.8"...

EOM (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 announced

I strongly suspect (based on differences in specifications) that the 5x59-IL models are based on OmniVision sensors (the same as in the 5442-S3, or newer generations) and not Smart Sense sense (like TIOC-PRO / 5x59-PRO and HIK ColorVu cams). they have from beginning disabled WizColor / AI-ISP...

EOM (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 announced

Hi, Dahua put new website (awful)... But there are new announcements and one of them specify 31-03-2026 (end of March - so 20 days to go) is EOF (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 series cameras.... As a replacement is specified 5459-IL (Dual Light model, not PRO model which Andy have in...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

And return to XX century? no... AI is and will be part of our life.. And it will progress in next models... Problem with AI on CCTV cameras is that CCTV cams are using cheap a few dollars SOCs (chips), which are very limited.. There is big difference on AI capabilities / performance / size...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

the new 7 PRO series is based on new (2024/2025) generation OmniVision sensors with DUAL-ISO (ClearHDR). OmniVision sensors (previous gen) where used in 5442-S3 and 7442-X... they DON'T have any AI-ISP / WizColor AI references in spec sheet... We wait for first samples from Dahua / Andy...

Dahua keeps dropping Frames Per SEcond (FPS) to around 5 - 6 even though it's programmed to do 25.

without some night video footage showing the problem with 6fps and some visible vehicle/human movement on it (to see what exposure time was used by camera and what light/IR situation was on scene) - it's hard to help you... you can try update firmware to latest one, try to downgrade encoder to...

Dahua keeps dropping Frames Per SEcond (FPS) to around 5 - 6 even though it's programmed to do 25.

show Your camera image/video settings.. especially exposure settings... if the exposure is too long (like 1/6s) at night then you will get only 6 frames per second... Also what are IR settings.. if there is too low IR, then exposure will be slow.. it's dark PTZ camera with small sensor...

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

Problem with Dahua is that, they don't see Ubiquity as a competition.. They see HIK Vision as competition - so everything HIK is doing Dahua is copying and vice versa.. Also they more and more entering other industries like monitors or profesional big event LED displays or even drones (Yes they...

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

I was hoping that new Dahua 7 series will use new 1/1.2" sensor from OmniVision (or Sony Starvis 2) to differentiate from 5 series.. I wrote about this 2-3 times on this forum.. But this never materialized... answer is of course money - bigger sensors costs more, require bigger/better/pricey...

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

for 99% it contains new OmniVision OS08B10... similar to normal G6, where someone here confirmed they used OmniVision sensor there.. https://www.ovt.com/products/os08b10/
  24. steve1225

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

just must remember that those sensors and all quad bayer sensors for mobiles - are sensors which ARE NOT NIR enhanced.. so they are very bad for IR. you can do full color cam on it, but nor IR cam.. like situation with Sony Starvis 1/1.2" sensor used in Color4K (Dahua 5849). It is used only in...

URGENT!!! There will be new DMSS 2.0 and new cloud account mode & new cloud video streaming

in both cases (classic P2P and new P2P with cloud logging) cams / NVRs sended a lot of data to the Dahua cloud. I did many times in previous years traffic analysis from/to NVR at network level - it's not that old P2P didn't used cloud.. Yes it used it, and periodically sent encrypted data to...

multisensor cctv cameras are way to do cheap zoom - those products exists where multiple fixed lenses are used for 'hybrid zoom' capabilities... https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/All-Products/PT-Cameras/IP-PT-2-Series/MultiVision/IPC-PTS2449C-4E3Z-S-PV-PRO you have one static 2.4mm wide...

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

CCTV cameras are a very low-cost product. This is partly due to the OEM <> distributors <> installers <> end-user model. Dahua China, for example, sells the 5442-s3 (which is costly profesional model) for around $100, and Andy's store sells them for around $200, while in the standard Dahua...

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

Yes 2.8mm In case of cctv cams this is only marketing virtual specification, which means wide zoom (105-110 degree horizontal). Used for comparison between models. In reality focus length is different. And very depended of sensor size.
