Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

They need pushing hard, this is quite a serious situation, hopefully they realise. To release a new camera which performs significantly worse then older models is not a good look for any brand. My real concern is that if they released them in this state, does not inspire confidence at all...

    Seeking advice, color4k-T vs T58PRO

I know what you mean, I see something similar when someone is walking or general movement. As you say, still great but I think the next best option is the 5442 S3 range essentially. I still really like the 4K-T overall, you can try pushing the bitrate high and keeping fps 10-15 if not already on...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Surely we must be due some new firmware soon, I know @EMPIRETECANDY mentioned end of the month, then hinted Dahua would be getting a chase up...

    Seeking advice, color4k-T vs T58PRO

Out of interest, I assume you find the image soft at closer focal distances? granted the lens on the 4K might not be the best, but they are pretty damn sharp once past 10-12 feet.

    Seeking advice, color4k-T vs T58PRO

Short answer is buy the 4K-T or anything but a 54Pro at this point as above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

This is true...place your bets :lmao: There could be life beyond the stars, the real question, is there life within the firmware development department at Dahua :rofl:o_O

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

Fair to assume this will not function with the Dahua cameras in current form? that would be nice! **Edit - tested for fun and of course no dice with Dahua, maybe someone with the knowledge can create one or the original Dahua Sunrise/Sunset can be updated.

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

Yes indeed, I have been using a similar program called Dahua Sunrise/Sunset, but more basic, although it did allow the focus and zoom to also be set manually, this is great for ALPR if you get any focus shift from day to night. I am mourning the loss of this on the new cameras. We need something...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

I have dropped one of mine down to 0-0.9ms during the day with 20 gain and 0-2.7ms at night, the latter with 50 gain. It could be just like digital cameras, higher resolution requires somewhat faster shutter. Also finding that keeping gain low helps keep the quality up, more so than the 4mp...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

I am currently running on the original shipped firmware V3.140.0000000.32.R, Build Date: 2025-01-15, just wondering if there is any major real world benefits in upgrading to latest release which is a few versions newer. They list some 'bug' fixes and other features, normally I am a 'if it aint...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I am 50/50 on whether this can be fixed with firmware, if the sensor is good enough then technically it should be yes. The real question is even if they can fix our issues...do they want to?!? Obviously they should but who knows at this point. @EMPIRETECANDY throw us a lifeline here please :thumb:

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

I added to original post that this is more of a concern when the sunrise/sunset variation window can be up to 1 hour difference for any given month.

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

It has been a few weeks since I began using the newer cameras with the Time Plan Settings schedule. Previously a user (still am for older cams) of Dahua Sunrise Sunset application, this worked flawlessly for years now, even setting focus on ALPR cams. Now I know it has been raised before by...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

About right I would guess, although we would happily pay $300-400 for a camera with such a sensor and nice lens, most would probably not. Only Dahua, Hikvision and others know the sales numbers for the lower light, higher priced units. Shame though, I would be very happy to buy three or four at...

Dropping this in here since I was typing something similar as a reply elsewhere. No doubt a lot of this is common knowledge but anyway... I have found it quite interesting to test the four camera variations I got recently, S3 turret, S3 bullet, 4K-T and of course the 54ProZE! Still for...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

@bigredfish I would have a small virtual  wager that you will see a nice change in daytime quality on the 54Pro if you knock gain down to 20-30 just for a test, of course it will darken the image somewhat but you have so much light there it should be fine. Pushing the ISO (gain) down will...
  21. CamCrazy

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

OK, here is the thing, in the daytime you should be running gain as low as possible, this reduces ISO and in turn quality should significantly improve, potentially at least. Your mileage may vary of course, some will notice the quality more than others. If you have lots of light then potentially...

You run 50 gain during the day?
  23. CamCrazy

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Yes indeed, that is looking a lot better, NR just kills these at the moment. Remind me what gain you have set? that is another things which seems to affect these more than most cameras, I would like to have mine on 30 but stick with 40 so it eases to transition when light fades. If you can...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I get that 100%, hot mess if not daylight no doubt, which makes daytime somewhat irrelevant I know. But you should be getting better and more consistent results with those light levels, if you can face anymore testing :wow: Regardless, a truck comes by and my S3 is clean and noise free...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Depending on whether the bullet 54Pro is working differently, my take on the black vehicle and the carts is down to NR and/or processing. The only time I see those kind of artifacts/smearing/blur now on my Pro ZE is during poor light or at night, anything close to daylight and mine are in pretty...

With that said I am still getting good results on dark vehicles, during the day, dusk and night, well white is the winner!!

Yes 100% they love white or light vehicles! black or dark is a struggle! that must be the brain again!!!
  28. CamCrazy

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I can promise you these Pro's do not like NR or sharpening, it fries the brain even more. Mine is running 15fps and will give same results at 20fps or even 25fps, remember mine is a ZE turret. I switch mine to IR 30 minutes before sunset, at least, sometimes 1 hour. Light is bad in the UK though.

I will put my 54Pro ZE which covers a road on max zoom tomorrow and just make sure it still gives me good freeze motion, at the moment it is on around 50% zoom, possibly 60%. I do have one covering a door way with human traffic and that is OK, maybe not quite S3 level but pretty damn close, more...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Yes and no! - during the day mostly I find my Pro's are OK, low light or night is when the processing takes the wheel! otherwise I can get them to nail motion pretty good, all be it on 0.95ms shutter. The light in @bigredfish samples is very good, maybe too good and this is causing other issues...
