I concur 100% with this, at least two out of the three I purchased would have been returned, maybe all three - had they been local dealer supplied. Sadly none of the dealers in my country offer the 54Pro, S3 or 4K series, so options are limited.

Testing it again?!? I bought and own three, have been testing them for many hours so far and consider my feedback useful for others, that would be the purpose of me testing the new firmware. Just because I consider a camera to have flaws, does not mean I want to write off the three I spent good...

Looks like waiting until firmware publicly available since I suspect Andy has given up letting me have latest releases, too much bad press from me no doubt. Maybe honesty not always the best policy if you want beta firmware releases, I hope that I am wrong here! The floodlight...

Yes @EMPIRETECANDY as requested multiple times, please send new firmware for testing and honest opinion/feedback, we are happy to beta test - grab these oportunities from willing testers :thumb: (even those like me who don't post videos! but do feedback with image samples)

    Dahua SD49225T-HN PTZ repair log

That is a fair comment, once I realised the entry point was basically resin? sealed I soon decided not to mess with that. I would rather solder repair the cable and ensure the weather sealing of the camera is left untouched. We have quite a bit of rain and wind here, temps don't go much above 35...

    Dahua SD49225T-HN PTZ repair log

Well technically there were 10 pins, and although I didn't count the cable cores there could well have been 10 also. Which really just leaves the 'strong stability' which I am guessing you were probably referring to. The efficient transmission and interference free are probably dressing it up a...

    Dahua SD49225T-HN PTZ repair log

Final push and the PTZ is installed again today, bracket was looking a bit bare this last few weeks but complete again now! seems to be working fine so far. I had a 54ProZE running in its place since removing the 49225 (not on the same corner bracket!) so it was a bit odd switching from 4MP...

Review- EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 4mp Varifocal Turret

Seems that way, sad really, because a lot of installers and others will probably not care less like we do! sadly, hopefully some do though. Large sensor for the win as always, shrink the automation/Ai budget and funnel the money into quality hardware. To the likes of you and I it is not rocket...

Review- EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 4mp Varifocal Turret

This is a great summary on the sensors, makes me wonder what will be the fate of 4K and S3 series, are they still buying sensors for these or simply using up remaining stocks!?! Suspect the Ai bubble is much smaller than people think, there will be some air to come out of it but not so sure it...

    Review - EmpireTech IPC-T54PRO-AS 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP WizColor

100% agreed, disgusting that they released a camera in this state frankly, at best it was in testing stages, most likely 1 year and another sensor away from release.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Oh wow, OK, well you have a fine selection! no harm trying one out. The S3's are superb, no doubt, one of Dahua's finest I suspect. The 4K series are certainly amazing cameras as well, not without flaws but I have been nothing but impressed with mine, they often get vehicle and people ID's which...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I believe that is a good alternative, others with experience will know more. A lot can depend on distance to subject, I can only vouch for the 4K and 5442/S3 series which are both excellent when used in the correct location. Do you have any cameras already and which type?

"I want 2.8mm cameras everywhere to see everything..." - This is why you need specific FOVs with purposeful focal lengths.

I wanted to say thank you to @Ri22o for this and the 'build' thread, fantastic setup from the switches/network hardware to the cameras. For both novices and experienced installers, these are valuable resources that no doubt took a lot of time to create. Appreciate you taking the time, great...

Dahua 5442T-ZE at 70-100 ft - tuning limit or upgrade needed?

I think that if the goal is day and night operation at a range of 70-100 ft then PTZ will likely be the real answer. Depending on ambient lighting, using a Z12E could be challenging, the benefit of the 5442 is in lower light, although limited zoom range. I am using a 5442 at max zoom which works...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

It has white LED's and is technically able to run colour mode overnight, it has a built in speaker and the newer user interface. In the real world, at this point in time the answer is no, if you look through the last 10-20 pages most will suggest passing on this camera for now. If you really...

Is it the video or is the H264H (static) footage not sharp at all, the others look fine? I am seeing shutter speed too slow, hence the static objects including training shoes when on the ground are sharp. Is the codec set to VBR or CBR out of interest? almost look like VBR triggering to high...

This could be the tag line on Dahua's sales blurb...."The new Dahua 54Pro, better than the 5442-S3 for static content!" Joking aside, understood re the pig pen dust cloud :thumb: - it is a major stumbling block with the 54Pro in current form (firmware), particularly in low light. During the day...

This ^^^^^ the 54Pro has very pronounced issue in this regard, also 'ghosting' at night and low light is worse than any other Dahua camera I have seen.

That is good to know, the square boxes are bulkier but useful for universal fit of 4K-X and S3 variants, noted. The 130E is a tidy box with the retaining strap, fiddly to fit but compact nonetheless.

This might well be the sub stream darkness issue I have flagged, depending on which stream is being shown via the browser. Mine actually appears to have resolved itself!! but prior to this any substream below 1080 resolution was substantially darker, as per your sample.

That looks like a fine setup. Question, is that 4K-X mounted on a PFA-121 rather than a PFA-130E, or are my eyes deceiving me?

Here is the odd thing, at some point in the last few days this has resolved itself! :wow: At the time I tried everything to resolve it, no joy, literally a direct result of the firmware upgrade, @Chokolinho was seeing it also. Right now it seems to be OK. The issue I had with the exposure...

I think that there are not enough people testing this camera in poor lighting, it hightlights the floors more, which is a good thing. It means those fortunate enought to have street lights or additional ambient will be winning. For the sake of the three I own, hopefully they can pull this...
