Dahua Product Availability in the U.S. ends December 31, 2025

.@SecScottBessent on China: "President Trump gave me a great deal of negotiating leverage with the threat of 100% tariffs on November 1st — and I believe we've reached a very substantial framework that will avoid that and allow us to discuss many other things with the Chinese."
I fear this administration thinks NDAA has something to do with non-disclosure agreements instead of being related to drones/IP cameras and will not even be touched upon during the meeting.
Tariffs & general trade will be the talking points.

yep, doubtful this will change our situation. T'was an FCC ruling.

I hate goobly gock. Not sure what this means but article does say FCC did vote today Tuesday 3-0 to go forward with the FCC ban on various China companies such as Dahua.
I think, not a good sign.

Trade wars have consequences.

While an argument can be made about security, lets face it this wouldn't be happening otherwise and there are still thousands of vulnerable IoT things out these that can be used the same way by nefarious actors or state sponsored groups.

I personally think US wants my data to go through US products so the Big Eye In The Sky gets all that marketing and analytics info, instead of going through China Big Eye In The Sky.
Next up, my German Bosch smart dishwasher and LG smart Fridge bans!

Report: Tariffs on China could fall from 20 to 10% if Beijing curbs fentanyl chemical exports

CNBC's Eamon Javers reports on news regarding U.S.-China trade negotiations.

Well at least the cameras we want and potentially won’t be able to buy will be cheaper!

am hoping @EMPIRETECANDY makes an announcement to give what can be done / what can not be done.
It's my understanding, no public (city/sate) or federal organizations can have Dahua (or the specific banned camera systems) installed or newly purchased, as of the ruling today 10/28/2025. Someone, has to remove all these cameras and purchase 2 or 3x's spendier NDAA compliant ones. Heck...why not? Just simply add more to national debt. Who cares?
Does this apply to my personal at home or next-door neighbor business mechanic? Unsure.
How does this apply to Andy's rebranded cameras? Unsure.

The United States has tightened regulations on telecommunications equipment produced by Chinese companies deemed a national security risk. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted 3-0 to prohibit the authorization of new equipment containing parts from companies on a "restricted list" and to give the FCC the power to ban the sale of already authorized equipment in certain circumstances.

So like i say, all are a bargaining to get some great deal, but who knows the crazy things happen later.

@EMPIRETECANDY will the Dahua servers also be shutdown? Just wondering if the DMSS app will go down. I use Open VPN and DMSS. Didn’t know if this will be affected or if there is a different app? Or if I should take the cameras/NVR offline completely? Thanks!
