    Color 4k troubles

I'd check the wire and connections first. The only time I had a problem similar to what you are experiencing, it turned out to be the wire. If you're using a Dahua NVR with your 4K-X, under "Maintenance Center" select one-click-diagnosis. It may detect something intermittent. As far as replacing...

    Color4M-T new firmware available

Didn't notice anything different during the day, but in an hour it will get dark here, so I'll put it through a few tests.

    Color4M-T new firmware available

Dahua posted a firmware update for the Color4M-T (IPC-HDW3449H-AS-PV-PRO) rev. 26. I uploaded it to one of my Color4M-T cams, and it worked without any issues; so I installed it on the other two 4M-T’s, and it seems to be working well on all three cameras. IPC-HDW3449H-AS-PV-PRO

Locking T54IR camera lens in place?

Nope, as you discovered the phillips head screw just locks the base. That camera mount has to be the worst idea anyone from Dahua ever had.

    PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X

I had difficulty updating the same camera and finally had to resort to climbing the ladder and doing a factory reset. That fixed the issue, and it finally updated ok. Did you try a reset before updating?

Need advice: 2 Dahua cameras for outdoor garden surveillance

Just to add to what bigredfish suggested above, when I think of a garden and ip cameras, the first thing I think of is bugs. External illumination will help immensely.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

The color cast correction analyzes the artificial lighting in the scene and removes color casts (blue/yellow) to render a more natural white balance. Under the street lamp on my street, it corrected the lighting to make it appear more pleasant to the eye.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

That is probably wise, but since I have multiple T180 cameras, I don't mind testing the firmware on one camera to see if it makes an improvement. I don't recall if this was included in the previous firmware, but the color cast correction on this firmware works very well at night.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

I noticed that Dahua has a firmware update (2026-05-08) for this camera IPC-Color4K-T180 (IPC-PDW5849-A180-E2-ASTE) on their site. I installed it on one of my two T180's, and it seems to be working well. Possibly IVS detection from the sides is better with this update. (fingers crossed) Here is...

    PTZ5A4M ?

Not sure what is causing it, but the first thing I would try is a factory reset of the camera.

    Quick comparison video of Color4K-X Series 1 & 2

The firmware that came installed on the camera was 2/6/24 (rev. 12), and I just now updated to the 1/14/26 (rev. 62). Note that this uses the newer interface, so series 1 and 2 use different firmware.
