Here is an audio example. This was recorded on my cell, so it does sound better in person, than it does here.
It's not audiophile quality by any means, you can't expect it to be with such a small speaker.
But it easily gets the job done.
Thank you.

I tried it all. All works.
It very well could be a firmware issue.
Have you reset the cam to factory defaults and tried it again?
Cleared your browser cache and all of that?
its not a firmware issue, you have something setup incorrectly in pss. If you record to sd card you wont see this issue.Awesome - Thanks. Trying now![]()

This is what happens when I try to do something without thinking it through... I mounted the 1831C-PIR to a temp board at about the 6ft mark, setup an iPad about 5 feet behind it to record, then grabbed someone to stand in front of the camera to have a conversation with. They didn’t want to be on video, so I penciled them in. The audio for the entire video is low (I should have tested first), but if you adjust the volume up to where his voice is a normal level, you’ll hear how loud the speaker is. Heads up, when the video fades to black, the next section is how loud the alarm is, so turn it down a little for that. It’s not incredibly loud, but it’s loud enough.Thank you, that's what I'm looking for!

I used the iDMSS app on my iPhone to talk back through the camera as well as trigger the alarm.
same here @fenderman , im receiving alerts in gdmss app (see screenshot) and then when i want to review it says: no recordings. Smart pss was running JPEG in playback but records not: "error net sdk returns error".its not a firmware issue, you have something setup incorrectly in pss. If you record to sd card you wont see this issue.
I haven't personally tried it, but I've read posts from others that says yes. If I get a chance later this week I'll give it a shot.Does Blue Iris app allow the 2 way conversation like, with an alert?
did the upgrade and issue remains:
- gdmss is registrating motions but unable to playback
- on the ip camera's playback i can only play jpg, no dav files or motion records
-pss's playback has 0 recorded events
- sd card is showing as 'local' storage and has space used already on the card
i don't want a nvr or cloud service. I want these to work with the SD and proper playback on my devices.

Not that I consider myself an expert, but I use Blue Iris so I don't have SD cards in any of my cameras. Sorry.calling out all the experts! Thank you for your help.

You might try Blue Iris. IIRC, it will run in demo mode for 14 days for free. It comes with a pretty cool web server (called UI3) that makes connecting to it from a computer or smartphone quick and easy -- no stupid web plugins needed. There is also a dedicated smartphone app for it, but it's $10 (no demo mode for that). It does not do ANR, and to access your footage remotely, you need to setup a method to connect to that PC when you're out of the house, like a VPN or port forwarding (generally not recommended).to bypass my issue(for the time being) can i set up my PC as NVR? Will it then also have ANR if the network goes down? And how will i access my footage remotely?
any luck?
Installed the latest firmware but haven’t had the time to run any tests yet sorry.
The cloud storage works super well for now but will try and test on the weekend.
